Am I right in thinking all the Christmas celebrations are free and that I don't have to purchase tickets for them?

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party requires a separate ticket to enjoy. Even if you are in the MK on one of the party days you are required to have a party ticket which is different from a park ticket. If you don't have one you would be required to leave at 7PM I believe is the time.

There is no Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

To answer the question of the topicstarter:
You don't need any tickets for anything.
All the Celebrations (which next to the decorations is basically just the cavalcade and some characters in winter outfits) is free for everyone.
