I'm so excited! I just noticed two flower buds on my Christmas cactus. The last time there were any flowers on it was in September or October 2000!

Does anyone have any info on what I should do to have it bloom more then once every few years? Right now the only thing I do is water it when I remember

Thanks,
Jeannie

I do not do anything special for mine.. I am sure that I am suppose to, but all I do is water it.. I do not have a lot sun in my house...we live in a North exposure and lots of trees around.. but the plant blooms every Christmas.. I don't how, but it is like it knows it is suppose to.. I hope others have more answers for you.. :)

Jeannie welcome to the Dis F&G forum.

If you read the links, it tells how my cactus flowered the beginning of November. I put it outside on the front porch all summer. It gets total shade. When I bring it in it already has buds. So it blooms early. By the beginning of December the flowers have gone.

I took it out of the window and put it in the basement. I have a walk out basement so I have full windows. Put it on a shelf facing east. It is covered with buds again. Looks like it will be in full bloom in about a week.
