Christmas Breaks 2013

Just curious (and sorry if this has been posted before), when do you elementary and high school kids have off for Christmas this year?

Schools already me have the full two weeks off but I'm curious if any schools go back January 2nd and 3rd for school of if schools everywhere have two weeks off.

Our boys' school has the two weeks off. Their last day is Friday and they go back the 6th.

Our district has off for 2 weeks! this is first time I ever remember schools closing for that long!!!

The district in the next town is going back on the 2nd.

I wish we had the full 2 weeks. The school committee discussed it but i guess it got shot down. We leave for Disney on the 26th but have to come home the 1st for school the next day.
Wish we could stay till the 5th.

Whole reason I am asking is because we will be in Disney until the 7th and were thinking looking at the past that from the 1st on it would not be insanely busy but are starting to think otherwise since schools may be off till the 6th. Seems a good amount are going back the 2nd however.

I went to private high school so I almost always got 2 weeks off, public schools around me usually just do if Christmas is on a Wednesday or maybe Thursday.

Fayette County Schools (in Lexington) have the schedule I'd prefer ... they got out today and go back January 2. I'd rather be out longer before Christmas than after. But I don't get to pick ... so I'll enjoy my time off whenever I can get it

20th is last day of the semester. They go back on the 6th. DW (school employee) is supposed to go back the 3rd, but is using comp time to push it back to the 6th.

Our district get out on the 20th and goes back on the 7th.

DS attends the virtual school though and can work at his own pace. He has been out for winter break since last week. He can't start next semester until the middle of January so he will have a full month off for winter break.

Same here. We're on a balanced calendar and get 2 weeks fall, 2 weeks winter and 2 weeks spring.
