I just landed a 9:35am breakfast reservation at the Crystal Palace for Christmas day! We are out and I just figured I'd check on my phone to see if I could find anything in the magic kingdom for Christmas even though everything has been full the last month or so.

Here's the issue - I now have 3 breakfast adr's - crystal Palace, kona cafe and the grand Floridian cafe(is that the name?!?). Where should we go? I was feeling fine with kona because it sounded yummy, at gf we could look at the gingerbread house BUT at CP we are in the magic kingdom and don't have to worry it will close and we won't get in for our dinner Adr's, wishes dessert buffet etc.

What would you do??

I would choose quickly, because holding 3 breakfast ADRs for Christmas morning when you are only going to use one really isn't cool. :sad2:

I totally agree. If you're going to be in MK anyway for dinner and the dessert party, keep the CP and cancel Kona and GF Cafe. You still could go over to GF to see the gingerbread house and maybe you have breakfast at Kona on a different day (their breakfast is definitely yummy!:) ).

Wow I didn't realize there was so much hostility on this board regarding reservations! (Um maybe I did, but was trying to think it wasn't really the case). :3dglasses

Not that you asked (and actually I didn't ask what you thought about me having three ADR's but ya told me anyway!:mad::laughing:)but personally I think if I hogged them and left them and didn't use them that wouldn't be cool - but I don't think keeping them for a week or two until I figure out what to do is a huge deal.

Thinking that I am mostly trying to decide between Kona and Crystal Palace but curious why YOU would choose one over the other?

Edited to add: BTW the only reservation that is showing up online is the Crystal Palace one - I can't even access the others to cancel them!! :)

Jen,
CP is my favorite and being there on Christmas morning would feel more celebratory to me than Kona or GFC. Especially if that's the park that you want to be in. If you're an early riser, you could arrive for RD and ride SM before your reservation.

While I didn't find the pp's remarks particularly hostile, I do think that when we post our comments on a forum, we're inviting a certain bit of criticism. I agree with the pp and I agree with you. It's not cool to tie up reservations, but taking a bit of time to choose seems reasonable to me. Good luck choosing!

I definatley think that the atmosphere and location of CP would be more special for Christmas than Kona and I think your arguement that being in the MK for the morning of Christmas and not having to worry about it filling to capacity and you getting stuck outside and missing other ADR's is a valid one. So personally I would go for CP.

I agree with the others that CP would be a lot more celebratory and festive for Christmas morning. You can get a Kona or GF reservation pretty much any time, but CP is a lot harder to get. :)

Some people feel very strongly about perceived "ADR hoarding." Don't take it personally! It's unfortunate, but there are people who will book several (and sometimes 5) ADRS for a meal on a given day because they "don't know where they will want to eat" and they wait until that day to decide where they are going to eat, often not bothering to cancel the other ADRS.

I realize that you have only had your ADRs for a short time and you only planned on keeping them for a short time. it would simply be nice of you to make your decision ASAP and release those other ADRs for folks who may be having a hard time getting a breakfast ADR for Christmas Day. pixiedust:

I would do CP! I think that would be a great place for Christmas breakfast.

I would make a decision asap too only because from what I have read on the other posts, the people that have "lost" their reservations are the ones that have double or triple booked reservations during the same time periods.

From what some people are saying is that with the system upgrades happening being able to double book adr's may be a thing of the past shortly.

I would hate for you to loose the one you really want!

HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY

I hope so -it is unfair for those who realy want the ADR.

Keep the Crystal Palace. If you have dinner and a dessert party booked, you want to get into MK early on Christmas Day and stay there.

goto CP, more than likely Mk will shut down, and you won't be able to get in, and then lose your night ressie's, which would stink!

Definitely the Crystal Palace. You should get into the park just in case it fills to capacity. I think having breakfast at the Magic Kingdom on Christmas morning would be fantastic.

Don't worry too much about holding up the extra reservation for a couple of days, I'm sure you will make up your mind soon, then someone else will find your opening and use it. It's the same with 45 days out, people cancel their trips, and then cancel their dining reservations.

Have a great time.
