Christmas Bonus

Seriously?????!!!!! We get a $100 bonus that is then taxed....you are very lucky!!

Seriously - yes. He gets paid every other week - so I guess it basically works out to 2 months salary minus the tax - so in essence it is three paychecks for us. This year I knew how much he was getting before he did because they direct deposited the money into his payroll account. I always call on payday to make sure and sure enough - regular pay then a deposit for a triple pay. It has to be calculated that way because it is always 3 weeks of take-home pay (after taxes).

No bonus. But we do get a large bonus if he signs another 5 year commitment and 30 days paid vacation a year.

For where I work, the girls got $300.00 this year. The guys in the office got $600.00. And the drivers got something, but it varies depending on their lenght of service.

What DH gets, I don't call it a Christmas bonus, it's just when it is paid out.
DH's company every Jan, deposts 100,000.00 into the safety award. Every 30 days, they go without a loss time accident, the company puts another 20,000 in the account. They can earn up to 10 deposits each year. The account earns interest thru the year. They have roughly 400 employees. His check this year was almost 600.00 after taxes. Last year is was around 300.00. It's a great modavation to be safe on the job.

we get a 100.00 no matter how long you have worked there and our company does not give raises at all to anyone :(

My Christmas bonus this year was well into the 5 figure range.

We had a very good year.

Christmas bonus? What's that? :confused3

My parents used to get such things when they worked for a decent company owned and operated by decent people.

I have never had a Christmas bonus. This year's bonus is the fact that my current job is finished tomorrow. :(

One year (at another co.) my bonus was in being fired 1 week before Christmas for not agreeing with my manager that I should give up my earned vacation days.

DH's company always gives 1% of what each employee has made for that year. They handed the checks out last week :)

I don't work but DH gets a small end of year bonus, usually around $70 -$100 in his paycheck before Christmas. The company also sent out Christmas cards with $30 target gift cards in them.

I had my review yesterday and even tho I've only been here six months and am not eligible for a raise or bonus, I got both. Bonus is 10% of salary (pro-rated), so I am very pleased.

Especially nice for me to get something because DH's company has not given bonuses or salary increases in three years. Their bonuses (mid-year and year-end) were a major part of their compensation (since they are seriously underpaid). He used to get about $18,000 in bonuses, so our income has been seriously reduced the past few years.

I work for the federal government, so no, there are no Christmas bonuses.

DH is full time & part time Army National Guard. So, also, no Christmas bonus. One year was even "better" than that though, the budget ran out....and they couldn't pay him for the last 3 wks of the year. He had to file for unemployment for 3 wks. I can't remember if he was paid by the state or federal back then. I'm thinking it was state govt. Great huh? Merry Christmas.....no paychecks.

When I used to work for a bank, we would recieve a year end bonus of about 2 wks pay, along with a huge box of fruit shipped to our houses, and a wonderful year end party at a fancy upscale banquet type place & live entertainment & nice gifts (for 750 people); AND a great childrens party with gifts for each child & food & entertainment (even your nieces or nephews or grandchildren)!!!! Man, I miss that place.

The insurance agency.....if they planned for it...we got anywhere from $50 to $200.

Hubby gets a great bonus ( its not technically a xmas bonus, more of an end of year bonus) but he gets this week.. last year before taxes it was $12,500. then they double it and add a percentage of his yearly salary and add that total to his retirement fund...He job is great like that....he also gets 12 weeks paid maternity leave when I have the baby....( he has been there for 3 years) when I had emma he only worked there for 2 weeks... he left work early to go to the hospital and an hour later he got a phone call telling him to take the next 2 weeks off paid and they sent us a fruit basket and added $500 to Emma's college fund...

Wow, this must be a great company with big hearted management. It's nice to hear of family oriented companies...

Got mine today :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo:

$200 more than last year...sure beats lottery tickets and rotten fruit baskets. :teeth:

No Christmas bonus. We get quarterly bonuses if they feel like giving them to us which falls in January, and $100 mall gift card.

Terrible.

Why do guys get double what girls get?

I work for a large international Oil company and we get annual bonuses in March based on company performance and your individual performance. For my job level its a little over 10% of my annual salary. At the dinner we had last night for our small group we all got $300 gas cards for our brand of fuel so that was pretty nice.

I just started my job on Nov. 27. It's a small family type company and I figured they probably do bonuses but never in a million years expected one for myself. I got 2 $50 grocery store giftcards. Heck - I was thrilled! That's more than I have received the last 7 years from other companies!

I was wondering that too. This sounds very discriminatory unless something has been left out.

I work in an industry, that for the most part, is still considered "the old boys club" - trucking. We are a small LTL and regional TL carrier. I grew up with a dad in this business, so I understand the mentality. And that mentality is the same reason that the girls are the lowest paid (females are hourly, males are salary) and it take 2 of our checks to match the lowest male check. Since all the males, of the office personnel are salary, only the girls have to punch a time clock and you hear about it if you a 1 minute late. BUT I love the work that I do. I am EXTREMELY happy to have a good paying job with good benefits, because around here they are few and far between. I have learned to pick my battles (at work) and believe me, the 4 girls that were here before me, were so glad to see me come back, because the raises and bonus's got better once I came back on board.
