Does your company give you a Christmas bonus?

My hubby's company does - thankfully - and usually equals at least 3 takehome paychecks. Gotta love him going to the annual Christmas party.

It's not technically a "Christmas bonus" - if we make our sales goal in each of our three divisions, we get a bonus for those. If we make our total company sales goal (yeah, right - it's always set impossibly high and never, in the entire 152-year history of the company, has it ever been reached) we get an additional bonus. Then we get a portion of the profit sharing deposited into our 401(k).

And we get a $25 gift certificate for LL Bean.

Nope, but we get more than a week paid time off at Christmas which is even better to me. :teeth:

We used to get 4 weeks pay, the last few years with the economy not being so great, we got 2 weeks. I'm hopeful that it will be more than 2, but it won't be 4, but I'll get back to you. (we will hopefully be getting it next week)

Ours is based on how long you've been there. I'm capped out now and get the max which is $99.99.

I guess it's better than nothing.

My husband has got one each year (usually between $500-$800) I got an address book once (you know, like the kind from the dollar store) This year we were told that we're getting some kind of book (work related) that you need to read over our Christmas vacation. Nice huh?

I haven't had a Christmas bonus since I worked retail 15 years ago.
DH doesn't get one either.

I do, however, get Christmas week off which is wonderful.

Last year and this year (I started last year) we were given $50.00 each month we have been employeed.

DH's company gave bonuses twice, but it has been several years.

Let me tell you about my history with Christmas bonus...

My first year at my previous employment (I worked there 13.5yrs, till it closed...long..story) the full time recieved a new $50 bill, the part time, $25. After that it went down hill. The second year we go fruit baskets, which must of been from like Thanksgiving, because the bananas were overripe, the nuts were nasty, and the oranges rotten  ...so us on the second shift threw the oranges out the window down to the parking lot...wonder what the owner thought of that.. :rolleyes1 . After that we didn't get anything, except one year we got like $5 worth of instant lottery tickets..

Anyways, with my current company (which is owned by a former supervisor at the other place) I was shocked at the bonus...after taxes it was about half my usual paycheck $400 :woohoo:. They pay by senioroity and experience, so then last year was even better $600 after taxes :cool1: .

Not sure if we have one this year or not, mainly till this past year, we only had like 25 employees...now we have around 60, plus we are in the process of trying to get a new building..so I will know by next friday. They always give the bonus the week before Christmas

I get a crisp $100 dollar bill as my Christmas Bonus. :confused3 as does everyone that works here. I can't complain at all because in October we have evaluations and raises and get a hefty bonus then.

At DH's company they get a tin of nuts. however they do get the week of Christmas off paid.

I work for the federal government, so no, there are no Christmas bonuses. Occasionally they try to time performance awards (based on annual evaluations) so that they show up in December.

Oh, last year our agency gave everyone leather coasters with the agency logo on them - does that count?

unfortunatly, no :sad2:

We dont get bonuses of any kind at my job. He would give them if there was money. But, at this point we are just lucky to get paid our regular pay checks. When I first started, 9 years ago, the old owner gave bonuses. We got $100 for each year we worked for the company, with a min. of $250.

Dh's company doesnt give holiday bonuses, but they do get two per year. One paid in May and one paid in Nov. It can be about 30% of his annual salary. He reached 200% of his sales goal for the last bonus. So he got the max amount, plus he got an extra 5% for being one of the only employes that did that well. Net was about 3 months of net pay. :) They also mailed him a check that was $202 after taxes, that was an extra thank you. Everyone in his division received one for a job well done.

DH loves his job, and so do I!

My DD gets a nice bonus every year but it changes. Last yeat it was $1000 and this year was $2000. She also got a Hermes scarf yesterday which she was so excited about!

Nope, I work for state government. No bonuses. We do get Christmas Eve and Day off, plus new years eve and day. But we have to use leave to take the days off in between, which I normally do. My DH gets $300 bonus. But that's it.

Our salaries are lower than the industry average, but we do get a bonus (usually 5-10% of salary depending on how well the company did, since I've been there it's always 5%).

We also get a week off between Christmas and New Years.

No cash bonus here either but working for the State (education) I get the week off-paid- between Christmas and NY also. That is a huge bonus I think!
Counting all paid holidays and admin closings plus vacation I earn each month, I get about 6 weeks vacation each year..... now if I could just use some of it!!!! :) So I'm not complaining about lack of a cash bonus.. I'm happy.

We have a goal sharing bonus and depending on how we do in certain areas, scrap, shipping, customer rejects, etc., we get a certain percentage of our yearly salary. This year we have the opportunity to get 8%. MIne is looking to be around $2600 - $2700 after taxes.
