Yesterday I got some extra cash and I thought I should give my wife and kid a surprise, and what would be better than spending a few days in WDW for christmas time!! :yay: We´ll be staying there just for 5 days, from 21st until 26th, so we don´t want to hop from one hotel to another. We´ll be on a cash reservation, booking a 1 bedroom unit and here is the deal: BWV or VWL? I think VWL is one of the best resorts to stay in christmas time, we have never been there in christmas time but I have that feeling, am I right? Or should I get the BWV?

We´re going all the way from Europe, and these will be our first christmas out of my country and without our family in 35 years, so I want everything to be perfect. We´re planning to have our christmas dinner in our room and cook some typical christmas dishes, I can´t wait! :santa:

And another little question for the people spending their christmas night there, what about Santa´s christmas gifts? Any plans about where to keep them away from my 5 year old? :confused3 Maybe in the luggage room until he´s already sleeping? Sorry, I´ve finally made lots of questions! :littleangel:

Wilderness Lodge at Christmas is awesome (if you have a feeling of a northern traditional style Christmas in mind). We stayed there a couple years back, and even had a cold snap (in the weather), that made it just about perfect.

Good luck to you and family in your holiday planning. We always spend the second week of December at VWL; it is a wonderfully magical place!

Those are the two resorts that we alternate spending our December trips in. One benefit of BWV is that it is so close to Epcot which has the Candlelight Processional, as well as the story tellers in each pavillion.

I prefer the VWL....for DH that's his hands down choice. If you do stay there, be sure to get over to FW to see how the campers decorate their motor homes. It is fantastic!

Enjoy your trip!

Definitely VWL. We'll be there over Christmas too. I would hide your little one's gift in your luggage. That's where I hide my gifts at home & my 2 children have yet to find my secret spot despite looking every year & they're 11 & 13! Have a wonderful trip. :santa:

The holidays at VWL was the reason we bought our points there many years ago. I'd go with VWL.

We also bought our points a VWL just to go for the holiday decorations.

Thanks a lot for your responses! I have booked and paid for a 1 bedroom villa at VWL!! Can´t wait to be there!

You won't regret it!

If you have time, stop by some of the deluxes to see their Christmas displays. Last year, Boardwalk had a very nice carrousel display.

But hands down I'd recommend staying at VWL.

When we were at WDW for Christmas and our son was little, we brought a small Christmas tree with us and decorated our room. I packed all the presents in one of the suitcases, but I only brought the smaller gifts. I left the majority of them at home. Santa left a note for our son that he thought it might be hard getting his presents home, so he decided it would be good to leave them at our house to unwrap when we get home.

So when we got home our son ran into the house and found his presents under the tree. We picked him up at daycare and left right from there for our trip, so we were able to put the presents under the tree before we left.

Coming up is our 3rd December trip and the first where we DON'T split b/t VWL and BWV.

We usually do the same as a PP. BWV for Candlelight Processional, then transfer bags while we tour the other deluxe holiday displays, then VWL for MVMCP.

We're spending the entire trip at VWL this time. Shucksy darn.

Thanks again everyone, I'm so excited! Deb & Bill, yeah I thought about buying a small christmas tree, sounds awesome! Thank you for your tips!
