is US during the week between christmas and new years?

i've heard that Disney is crammed during that time but how about universal?

if we head down next year i was thinking of spending some time around the 28th - 31st

will it be wall to wall?

we were there a few years ago it was very busy but staying in the hard rock gave us fotl and we walked right on every ride while others waited. Loved it there at Christmas!!! Decorations were great and a great place to spend new years

I was curious about this too for Christmas 2010. I was thinking of US/IOA for Christmas Day and 26th...if it is less crowded than WDW would be on those days. Idk...we will see...but it is a thought swimming in my head at the moment! lol

All local parks are jammed that week so there is no escape from the crowds. If you can swing it, stay onsite and take advantage of the unlimited Express access which will cut your wait times down. Otherwise be ready for lines and long waits everywhere.

So if you stay at one of the resorts is fotl unlimited and if you buy it for the day, just once per ride??? Thanks

nevermind- read faq link, yes unlimited for hotel guests

We were there onsite last year for Christmas and the crows picked up significantly on the 26th!

so - what hotels are around there and is it like wdw where they have a bus to take you to the parks?

We go down a little before christmas :santa:(23rd or so depending on the year) and stay onsite (HRH) so we get the FOTL access.

I thought the crowds were definitely lighter before christmas. For example we walked in to Mythos and were seated within about 10 minutes. Christmas eve and day was not too bad. I felt that more toward New Years the crowds really picked up. New Years day was verrrrry crowded.

All in all with the FOTL its manageable no matter what. Have a nice trip...

If you stay onsite you can either walk, take the water taxis or rickshaws to the parks. They are all very close to the action. Most of the offsite hotels that are close have shuttles to get you to and from the parks.

holy cow - do they only have 3 deluxe hotles????

330 plus per night wow that's a lot

Yes...only three hotels are considered onsite. If you have a AAA membership, you can usually get discounts off the rack rate.
