Here it is, day 5 of our trip and we have yet to make it to the MK. Who planned this trip this way?? Oh yeah, it was me. Anyway, today is the day! MK here we come. Let me just say that last night DH said that we need to get to the parks earlier than we have been. Hmmm, something is wrong here. Are you sure this is my DH?

Since he said to get up earlier, I did not need to be told twice. I was up earlier than usual and we were at the MK very soon after opening, like maybe 10 minutes! Now, I don't know about you, but walking under those train tracks and looking down Main Street just does something to me. Gives me a peaceful feeling, like nothing is wrong and everything is just perfect. Anyway, there were a lot of characters out but I had a mission. Destination: barber shop!! DH thought I was crazy, but I did not care. I knew what was about to happen. DD got a hairdo with a Minnie Mouse in her hair made of colored gel and lots of Mickey confetti. She thought she was just so special. DS got a haircut, which he really needed. He also had a red Mickey put on the back of his head, complete with red glitter. The top of his head was colored red with Mickey confetti added. DH, who also needed a haircut, got one but passed on the confetti. I did not get a cut, but they threw some confetti on my hair and then sprayed it in as well so it would not come off immediately. Let's just say that no matter where we went today, my kids hair was the talk, especially DS who wears his hair like a crew cut, so it was very noticeable!

We left the barber shop and headed over to Buzz. On the way there was a character meet with Stitch, so we did that. Then we noticed that Buzz was having a meet and greet inside the Timekeeper, so while they did that, I FP the Buzz ride. Since it was not time for our FP yet, we rode the TTA. I don't know about you, but I kind of like this ride. A great way to cool down during the hot day (which it wasn't today), and also just to relax. As we entered the portion of the ride that goes through SM, I instantly noticed all the lights were on. Every light!! Not thinking I would see this again any time soon, we took pictures. It was really neat to see the inside all lit up. DD, who has yet to be on this, thinks this is normal until I tell her the ride is in the dark. Hmm, her curiosity is now peaked and she is thinking of riding. But not now, as it is obviously not working. Onward we go and we finish up there and ride Buzz, using our FP.

Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas was being shown on the Galaxy Theatre, so the kids and I watched while DH took a conference call from work. We really enjoyed it!

Lunch PS was at the Plaza Restaurant. The burgers and sandwiches here are great and the ice cream fantastic! I think this is going to become a lunch PS for us every trip. I really like it here and its a great way to refuel and relax!

There is about an hour until the parade, so we get seats right in front of the castle, behind the statue of Walt and Mickey. While we wait, I FP Philarmagic. The parade was really nice but trying to get to Philarmagic afterward was horrible!! They would not let anyone cross through the castle because a show was going to be on in 45 minutes so we had to walk around to the left of the castle and fight what seemed to be thousands of people! Ordinarily this would not bother me, but our FP time had ended 5 minutes ago and I did not know if we would be let in. We were without question and once again enjoyed this show.

We then walked towards the Diamond Horshoe Saloon, thinking the show we saw there in July would be playing, but it wasn't. They closed the show and now its a meet and greet with Woody, Jessie and the horse, whose name I always get wrong. We saw the Country Bear Christmas show, which was cute and rode the Magic Carpets before it as time to head out to our PS at Chef Mickey's.

We go to Chef Mickey's every trip and I have never seen the line for food as long as it was tonight!! It was unbelievable. The food was good as always though and the character interaction was great. I am thinking though that next trip we will skip this restaurant, although I think there will be a mutiny if I really suggest it. We'll see.

We took the monorail to both the Poly and the GF to look at holiday decorations. The Poly had nice decorations, complete with a gingerbread house and hidden Mickey's. The GF was just amazing. I had heard about the gingerbread house that is a store, but words cannot even explain it. The decorations here I think were my favorite.

We headed back to the boardwalk, where I decided to do some laundry. The entertainment tonight on the village green were an ensemble of flutists, and they were wonderful. It was a beautiful night out, so after the laundry was done and the music had ended, I sat on the balcony just watching the boardwalk and Illuminations. Today I think was my favorite day so far of our holiday trip. I still had the peaceful feeling of walking into the MK and seeing it all decorated.
