My DW and I decided to take a quick trip out to San Diego over Thanksgiving weekend just to get away. We left the kids with a friend and headed off. While we were there we decided to check out Sea World. To be honest, we had never been and it seemed a little unimpressive compared to SW Orlando, but our hotel was a 10 minute walk away, so we thought "let's give it a go."
The new Christmas shows were already going, so scheduled our day to catch all the Christmas-specific stuff, and all I have to say is Awesome!!
The pet show was cute, the seal show was hilarious, and even the Polar Express 4D experience was enjoyable. It was a little nippy, so as we came out of the 4D show, it was perfect time for Hot Chocolate!
We didn't have time to take a whirl around the ice skating rink, but looked like a blast.
To close the night out was the Shamu Christmas show, and this definitely made the trip! It was absolutely amazing... incredible rotating video screens, sign language choir, beautiful music performed by 2 amazing voices, a choir, and a saxophonist that would make you melt in your seat. and all this while a beautiful, even elegant killer whale show is entwined in the whole thing.
We walked away saying, "we HAVE to bring the kids back to see this". We are already planning our 2012 holidays trip to DL and SW in San Diego... with kids in tow! Can't wait!
