Christmas and Marathon Stay

How long do the Christmas decorations stay up? DW and I would like to experience Disney in it's holiday decor and I would like my first marathon to be at Disney World. Is there a good week that we might be able to accomplish both?

The decoration start coming down during the first week of Jan. So if you arrive for your stay before the start of the marathon, you might be able to see some of them. If you arrive for the marathon and stay after it is over, every thing will be down by then.

The Candlelight Processional is usually over by Christmas Day. Osborne Lights usually are over by the end of December. I think the Lights of Winter at Epcot are about the last to be taken down. Every marathon I have been to, they were lit up in the morning for the run through Epcot.

Im not ready either! I am planning on doing the Race for THe Taste 10k in 90 Days

Last year, I think the decorations started to come down en masse on Jan 2nd.

We usually arrive NYE's or NY day and the Osborne Lights are usually up until the 3rd. or 4th. depending on when the sunday falls. I believe their last day is Sunday so this year it should be the 3rd. Have a great time.
