Christmas activities at ASMo or other WDW resorts?

Will be staying at ASMo Dec. 18-23 and was wondering how I could find out if there are any christmas activities occuring there during this time. I read somewhere that sometimes WDW characters visit the hotels around Christmas. But I don't know if they visit values or not.

Also wondering what Christmas activites are happening at other WDW resorts during this time period and if any WDW guests can partake or only guests from that hotel.

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
