Is anyone hoping to vacation at WDW this coming Christmas and totally struggling to make a plan? We are a family of 5 (kids will be 18, 16, 12). We have been to WDW many times before (multiple trips in June, once in April and once in early December and attended MVMCP). We are hoping to spend Christmas at WDW this year with 5-6 nights between 12/20-12/27 roughly. I don't even know where to start given everything up in the air. Has anyone booked yet? I am tempted to book a package just to have something in place. I can't even decide where to stay! In the past we have stayed at Port Orleans, AOA, Poly and Beach Club. Considering Caribbean Beach this time as kids would like a pool with a slide and hot tub. I think Poly is pushing my budget a little too hard although it would be amazing I am sure! Not sure if anyone can help, but more looking to see what others are thinking. I don't want to wait too long to either find no availability (tough with a family of 5) or being priced out.

Yeah, with having 5, it’s difficult to find a good room at a decent price. I’d book a room that fits you sooner rather than later. Just remember, If you book now, you can add on discounts as they become available.

I would check out the dvc rental places to see if any prices there fit into your budget. Sometimes the prices there are half the regular room rate. Though if you do book through that method you’re locked into it, whereas with a regular Disney room you can cancel at any time.

We were there this past Christmas week and have already planned for this Christmas also. We usually stay at either CR or BC but, with the lack of on site perks and current sky high holiday rates, I instead booked a 3 bedroom cottage at Margaritaville resort for alot less than a single room at CR or BC. If you don't have your heart set on a Disney resort, you can definitely get ALOT more space for alot less money staying off property.

I would go ahead and book a package. It looks like availability is still rather good right now (11 months out)... Like others have said, look offsite as well. Bonnet Creek (Hilton) looks amazing for the price and I'm highly considering that for our mother/daugher trip May or June 2022.

There is a lot to think about and I do understand the hesitency!

I'm struggling deciding if I want to do a Christmas trip. We've never went at Christmas and it's on my bucket list. And the birthday celebration is enticing (if they ever release any info on that). However, I don't want to pay a premium price and not get all the Christmas magic. So do I book December or make our usual Jan trip. I'm struggling!

We've gone during Christmas week a few times and my biggest suggestion would be to pick a resort (that fits within your budget) that gives you the easiest access to the parks you want to visit most. Transportation can become quite a hassle during that busy week. If you think you will be visiting EP/DHS the most, I would choose BC or CBR (BC being my first choice if it's in your budget). I'm not a big fan of AoA and if your kids want a slide, I would take that resort off your list. We've stayed at both BWV and BCV over Christmas and the ability to walk to two parks and not rely on any transportation was a vacation-saver.

We found that when our kids got to the teen years that we needed more then just a hotel room for our family of five. We enjoyed the all star family suites for more privacy and two bathrooms!

Also, we have a Christmas season trip planned. We assume we'll be wearing masks, we don't assume the park will be empty. We have resort, passes, and park reservations. We'll make dining reservations when we can. Would make FP+ plans if that becomes an option, but we fear it won't. Bottom line is that we've been before and we realize we might see less this trip than previous trips due to crowds and distancing and having to wait in socially distanced lines even to shop. We hope it will be closer to "normal" than all this, but we're managing our expectations. Due to college schedules, this is the only time we can go and we'd rather go to WDW for family time than not.

We will be up around the same time for a 6 night trip. It's tricky right now with so many unknowns. Right now, my biggest struggle is deciding on how many days to put on our ticket. We aren't park hoppers and its between 4 and 5 park days. We do want some hotel rest time. Back in the day the free FP would have pushed me towards 5, with a couple of half days but with no or paid FP, I may stick to 4 days. Either way it will be great.

If you have a bigger group, consider renting DVC points, its a great way to get larger accommodations below Disney prices and all of the DVC hotels are open. Another good option is doing a split stay. With the current suspension of onsite perks, offsite is also a good option. If they come back, you could always cancel and rebook

We have booked at Boulder Ridge Villas from Dec 18-26. Starting Christmas Day, the parks become a zoo so that is when we start our next stay in Fort Lauderdale. If You can find someone to rent you points, you will get a good deal until the 24’th, then point rentals go sky high due to amount of points needed. I remember a deal at Disney Springs Hilton for approximately $139 night till Dec 31. I think they have buses to the parks also and it’s right across the street from Disney Springs

1. Yes, we are. Three couples right after the 25th.
2. Yes, we have booked as there is no fear as can be cancelled.
3. We are staying at Contemporary my significant other's favorite place. (I am a GF girl. )
4. We are not pool people that time of year. Advanced age. lol
5. Poly will be all brand new at that time. To reopen in July.
