I just bought youngest ds (age 14) who is into WWII....a Nazi belt buckle. Not 100% sure its genuine-I'm hoping!!! Thought it would be kind of nifty for him. DH also got ds a backpacking stool which we know he wants.

There is nothing nifty about Nazi stuff. Maybe you should research a bit about WWII yourself and brush up on the Nazi regime before you consider nifty Nazi gifts nestled under your Christmas tree. Instead, keep reading for more inspiration!!!
Poor choice of words by the PP... but really? WWII-era items are sold to/from military history collectors every day. I'm the granddaughter of Nazi victims - and I can see the difference between interest the era and interest in a set of beliefs. The vast majority of my h.s history students are most interested in learning about WWII than any other part of the course. They can't get enough of the era.
Back to your regularly scheduled thread...
Snowy76, very much what I was going to post. I have a heavy German heritage on my father's side, many of whom were Jewish. I grew up hearing about Jews, Nazis, concentration camps, and the like. I'm not in the least offended by the OP's gift. OTOH, I find the whole thing fascinating. Sad, but fascinating.
It is an extremely interesting era, it is also an event we should LEARN from. Hitler sold himself extremely well, he didn't rise to power by being a blundering idiot. You must study that which you wish to overcome (or prevent.)
It sounds like the OP's son is a collector, it would seem odd to me that he collect from that particular event and have nothing relating to the Nazis in the collection. Hitler, Nazis, the Swastika.......all very relavent to what happened. I don't see anything wrong with it, it isn't like she bought him full Nazi uniform, is indoctrinating him with their beliefs, and teaching him the salute and "Heil Hitler".
To carry on the "regularly scheduled thread" LOL....
I've got an approximate list but only a few things bought.
For YDS, I have a pirate book. Yeah, that's it LOL I do know that I want to get him Spongebob Legos, a Spongebob video game, some new stuff for his bedroom, and some clothing. Beyond that I don't know.
For ODS, I have no idea. None. Nada. This is the first year that I am at a complete loss. His DS is dying, though, and I may get him a 3DS and a game as his gamer friends are all enthused with theirs. Probably the new Halo, he has a LIVE group that he plays with. I know I'll get him a few clothes, he's not much on fashion, though, so probably something practical like new pjs and lounge wear. He refused to wear any of the long sleeve shirts I got him last Christmas (still in the closet with tags...argh...) so I'm going to hit up places like Abercrombie/Hollister and get some good deals on tees. He will likely get new bedroom stuff as the other two are.
For DD, I have an AG school set and a new series of books. She has been wanting a newborn Cabbage Patch doll for over a year, but hasn't found one yet. I found the company website (or should I say patch

) and will order her one from there. She is the one who started the whole bedroom thing, she wants her room redone, so she is getting that as well. She's heavily into Monster High so probably the new book(s?) and a couple more dolls in her stocking. Also the DS game that is coming out. We moved the Wii to her room and I may get her Smurf dance, it looks cute. She played Glee at a friend's house this weekend, though, and was saying she wanted that. I don't think that's nearly as cute a Smurfs but it's her present.......

Also a few clothes and a purse. I already tucked away that elusive silver puffy vest that she wanted so bad last year (and I couldn't find

)
DH is getting $35 in Barnes and Noble gift cards (I cashed in some Mypoints) to use on his eReader. I always get him clothes but he has tons of jeans now. I may just get him a few tee shirts. Big gift? I don't know.
Some of what is on the kids lists will probably end up being bought by the grandparents. The Inlaws don't see them enough to know what they want so they ask for suggestions (usually, I just buy the stuff and they pay me back as MIL can't go out much for health reasons.) My mom sees them a lot but isn't the best at picking out gifts so she usually says "Tell me what to buy them." LOL I really, really want to cut back on what is under the tree. Last year we go everything on their lists and stuff from grandparents was "extra". It's also been like that in years past. Frankly, it's too much "stuff". I love gift giving but overkill is ridiculous. We will likely be out of town over Christmas, as well, so that means gifts need to be small and easy to transport. We have been doing a "group" gift that is usually games like Wii or board games. I think this year we may do one new board game (we are running out of new ones to pick up) and a "gift certificate" for some sort of outing.
