Christmas '05 ???

we are looking to to go to wdw dec '05, our home resorts are hhi and vb. we want to do 2 ressies one at bwv 11th - 16th and one ssr for 18th -21st. should we use our own pts and wait for 7 month ressie window or swap with someone for 11 month window. we want a 2 br for both resorts and last year we waitlisted for bcv or vwl for first week in dec and didn't get either. ssr will probably be ok since it is stand alone like okw where we stayed last year and has more units, but i wonder about bwv.

IMHO, you absolutely need to make the reservation for BWV at the 11 month window. Early December is one of the most difficult times of the year to book at BWV. (It's a popular time for all the WDW DVC resorts. I'm not at all surprised that you couldn't get into VWL or BCV. Even OKW, which is much larger, is difficult to book for early December).

I call every year day by day as soon as MS opens to make sure I get either a standard view or a Boardwalk view. Sometimes those rooms are gone before noon! The preferred view rooms - Pool/Garden last a little longer, but certainly not long enough for the 7 month window to open. I'm quite sure there were waitlists for early December well before the 7 month window opened for this year.


Can't speak for SSR - have no experience there. However, since you do not have an on site home resort to use for a back up plan, my advice is to try to find a way to book SSR at the 11 month window, too.

It might not be too hard to find a BWV owner to "swap" points or reservations with. HHI is a big draw in the summer.
