Hi guys! As of this morning this hurricane is forecast to score a direct hit on my town so please keep us in your prayers. The worst of it is still a few hours away from us and we're already getting winds that are at least 60mph if not higher. We've lost power at least 20 times this morning, no joke. Once it was for about 30 minutes but it just keeps going on and off. I'm sitting here right now watching a large tree outside our living room window just bowing under the force of the wind. I'm not overly concerned but I'd be stupid to not be concerned at all. Your prayers are appreciated. Oh, please pray for my dog (Snickers) too. She is scared out of her mind. Thanks guys. I'll keep you updated when I can. I'm not sure how long we will have power. Alright, well, let me add this since my mom just saw it happen. We have awnings over our windows and the one over our back door is now blowing off to visit the neighbors down the street. So this is pretty serious.

Prayed for you, , and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Update us when you can, take care of Snickers and yourself/family, and know that there is nothing that will happen to you, that God has not filtered through His Almighty hands. God bless, we love you.

Thanks for your prayers.

I think the worst of it is over. It's still rainy and windy but nothing like it was earlier. The power kept going off and on for the remainder of the afternoon, hopefully it is going to stay on now.

It's still raining so I haven't been outside but from looking out the windows it looks like the damage is some shingles, the back awning and a whole bunch of large tree limbs. We're safe though and that's all that matters.

Sis, I have been praying for all of you and thinking about you and everyone in FL all day today. ((hugs)) And I am so sorry I was un-able to post this for you this morning. Poor little Snickers he must be scared to death by all of this, give him a big hug for me.

Michelle, glad you all are fine! This hurricane season must be getting pretty old for all of you in FL! Give Snickers a hug for me...poor thing. Something you can try next time he's scared by the weather (thunder, wind, etc.). When the scary sound starts give a really good treat...eventually he will associate thunder and wind with good things. Well, that's the theory anyway. Just be careful not to give the treat when he's barking or really acting totally freaked...don't want to reinforce that. But try to give the treat right at the start of the storm - before he freaks. If you act happy and excited(even if you don't feel that way ) at each crash of thunder or flash of lighting or gust of wind....he will pick up on that. So, the next loud noise say in a really happy voice...."oh what fun...let's play ball"...or whatever he likes to do for fun. Might help.

Tasha, I like the treat idea. I'll have to get some to keep on hand for situations like this. My dog is a total weirdo, she doesn't like to play ball or with toys at all. She likes to go outside and run around which unfortunately you can't do when there's a hurricane blowing around out there! LOL But the treat thing is good, that just might work. It's not hard for me to "pretend" to be happy when it's thundering and the wind is blowing...I'm a sicko, I actually do enjoy it. Not to say I don't respect it and am not cautious of it but I do like it. Snickers obviously does not take after me! I will give her a hug from you and from Sarah. She will feel special knowing she has Aunties that care about her.

I actually enjoy a thunderstorm too...especially at night. Make sure you get an extra special treat...something only for stressful times. Good luck!

It sounds like Snickers takes after me, because I am not a big fan of storms either! If I was there with you guy's during the Hurricane, I would be under your bed and I would take Snickers with me( that way we could both be scared to death together).
