I just spent the weekend at a teen retreat and heard Decemberadio for the third time. Awesome music, awesome band!! They just got a big recording contract and will be available in June. The band hung out with the teens all weekend and held a guitar clinic for anyone who brought their guitar. They ate meals with the kids and talked on their level. It was a great time. My DS12 accepted Christ at a concert in November, they are that amazing!!

Saw Casting Crowns in concert this weekend and they were such a blessing!!!! pixiedust: If you get a chance to see them do, they are excellent praise and worship leaders and their lyrics are so powerful.
I agree! Saw them last year in concert, what a blessing for the whole family. Its an excellent concert for all generations, you'll be blessed!

Hi-
Never posted on this thread before, thought I post.
Talking about christian rock groups and music, dh and I are supposed to see Third Day in concert at our church on Mon. night! :woohoo:
Dh and I have never seen them in concert before, so it should be great!

I'm sure most of you here have heard of Darlene Zchech. She usually comes to our church once every 3 yrs to do a worship concert. Last time she came, September 2004, was awesome! I just love Darlene! Saw her at our church since 1996.
We also had Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman at our church about 4 months ago, but couldn't see them because too many people came to our church and it overfilled way over capacity. Couldn't even get into our church parking lot!

Just thrilled about Third Day coming to our church! My dh's favorite christian band!

Rosemarie,
Go early!! I have seen them in concert at Creation various years...how awesome a concert they put on. Be prepared for an awesome worship service...they like to make sure that you know they are there for Jesus :thumbsup2
Have a great time! ::yes::

Well I don't have the lyrics but I love songs from Casting Crowns and Mercy Me. I also have this WOW worship on my MP3 and IWorship( more classic religious songs like Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord)

But my favorites would have to be Lifesong, Stainglass Masquerade, and Set Me Free from Casting Crowns.

Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset; a totally awesome CD! Very worth it.

I see that htis thread is HUGE! Not sure if this CD "qualifies"? as Christian Music, but the first song is

Whenever God Shines His Light (on me)...
Open up my eyes so I can see
When I look up in the darkest night
I know everything is gonna be alright...

Also, the song Have I Told You Lately (that I love you) was first song by Van before whatsisname pop singer sang it again as a romantic love song. It is actually a "love" song to God/Jesus.

BE YOUR EVERYTHING/BIG DADDY WEAVE

When you're lost and all alone
I will be your sure way home
When you're left out in the cold
I will be your shelter from the storm
When you're clouded by your doubts
You're surrounded and there's no other way out
I will be all that you need
And I'm here for the asking

Let me be your everything
Let me be your everything
Look at all that I will bring
In exchange for what you have

Bring your sorrow bring your shame
All your suffering and your pain
Don't you know the price is paid
If only you'll let me be
Let me be your everything

When you're wandering in the darkness
I will be the light that guides you
And when death is standing at your doorway
I will be the life inside you

When you face your deepest fears
When you can't see thru all the tears
I will stay throughout the years
So patiently waiting
Hear me saying

Let me be your everything
Let me be your everything
Look at all that I will bring
In exchange for what you have

Bring your sorrow bring your shame
All your suffering and your pain
Don't you know the price is paid
If only you'll let me be
Let me be your everything

Neither height or depth, nor life or death
The angels above or the demons beneath the sea
Could ever separate you from
The love in me, so won't you let me be...

...your everything
Let me be your everything
Look at all that I will bring
In exchange for what you have

Bring your sorrow bring your shame
All your suffering and your pain
Don't you know the price is paid
If only you'll let me be
Let me be your everything

That is our beautiful Lord... our Everything. Love, that, Jill.

I love You Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh my soul, rejoice
Take joy my King
In what You hear
May it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear

Hello, friends :)

--We are a moment, You are forever

Lord of the ages, God before time

We are a vapor, You are eternal

Love everlasting, reigning on high

Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

Highest praises, honor and glory

Be unto Your Name

Be unto Your Name

We are the broken, You are the Healer

Jesus Redeemer, mighty to save

You are the Love song we'll sing forever

Bowing before You, blessing Your name

Step By Step

Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You

I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise You

I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Hi Saphire and Jeanne! Such precious worship to our deserving Lord. Love those songs.

And hi to all of our new friends posting here.

Hey gang!! Glad to see this thread is still going strong. You all are on my mind...just don't seem to have much time to pop on here! Homeschooling really takse a lot of my time...but sooooo worth it.

Love ya,

Hi Jilly, Jennifer, Jeanne, Tasha and to all our new friends, I love all the songs that everyone has been posting!

I feel bad, that I have not been able to come on here is much as I use to. I have a full time job( at a Day Care Center), so that keeps me pretty busy and I am also taking Guitar Leasons( and I am loving that)!

I hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes

And I will try to come on here when I can to say hi or just to sing a song for all of you! :thumbsup2

Bye for now, am off to get ready for work!

I've been going to my Baptist church the last 6 months and love it.
The music is so uplifting. Being that I'm new to this I'm writing down some of my favorite songs we sing at service.
After service I find myself singing some to myself all week.

Okay, did I just kill this thread of 256 pages!

I apologize to all that posted before, I'll stay away! :guilty:

Hey Muffycat! Don't go away. Sometimes this thread gets several posts a day then it will sit there for a week or more before one of us come along to sing again. I used to try and post at least one song each week day but have been busier here and not had so much time.

Feel free to stay and sing and join in, even somedays when I don't have time to post lyrics, I stop by just to read what has been added. The song lyrics encourage me so much!

CASTING CROWNS - WHO AM I

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You're

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who Am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who Am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

Hi guys. I just came across this thread today. It reminded me of a hymn that we used to sing all the time when I was a little girl.

MANSION OVER THE HILLTOP

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below
A little silver and a little gold
But in that city where the ransomed will shine
I want a gold one that's silver lined

I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold

Tho' often tempted, tormented and tested
And like the prophet, my pillow a stone
And tho' I find here no permanent dwelling
I know He'll give me a mansion of my own

I've got a mansion just over the hill top
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold

Don't think me poor deserted or lonely
I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound
I'm but a pilgrim in search of the city
I want a mansion, a harp and a crown

I've got a mansion just over the hill top
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets that are purest gold

Hey Mkaz,

I love that hymn you posted. Some of my favorite CD's are those of old hymns that have been recorded by contemporary artists. We still sing a lot of old hymns at our church.

Hi everyone else! Hope you all are well! Haven't had lots of time to drop by and sing but I do think of you all often.

Now I have a question: Does anyone here have the lyrics for No Matter How Long It Takes by Phillips, Craig, and Dean? I'm looking for a song by them but I can't find it, I thought it was He'll Do Whatever It Takes but it wasn't and I'm thinking it is probably No Matter How Lont It Takes but I can't find the lyrics anywhere.

Thanks,

Cristy

Hi Cristy,
I'm not familiar with this song, but I searched for it and found "No Matter How Long" by Phillips, Craig, and Dean. It sure does paint a beautiful picture of how God does try to touch us many times a day, if we only take the time to notice!
Have a gr8 day in the Lord!

No Matter How Long

I watched you as you stumbled out of bed
Rushed out the door your coffeee in your hand
And you looked so lost and lonely
I knew i had to find a way
To make you understand, I wanna be your friend
So I painted a sunrise in the sky
And I caused the birds to sing you lullabies
And I whispered sweet "I love you's"
In the breeze that brushed your face
You didn't even see, you never noticed Me
No matter how long it takes, somehow I'll find a way
No matter how far you run, there's no distance that's too great
'Cause when the wind blows through the treetops
And in the music of the rain
Somehow My love will find a way
No Matter how long it takes
I watched you as you fell asleep last night
And I trembled as I watched the tears you cried
So I splashed your face with moonlight, and I longed for your embrace
You never called My name, I loved you just the same
In the laughter of the children
I'll be calling out your name
Somehow My love will find a way
Somehow My love will find a way
My love will find a way
No matter how long it takes
