Power verse for today:
12/11/02 "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' - which means, 'God with us.'" Matthew 1:22-23

Love the songs!..Lanshark wasn't that an old Amy Grant tune you sang?

I have a new favorite song and I'm looking for the lyrics. It is "Calmer of the Storm" by Down Here(a Canadian group who we will be seeing after Christmas). Anyone know it?

I found the lyrics! Here they are...

C A L M E R O F T H E S T O R M
Psalm 107:28-30, Mark 4:37-40

When everything is wrong
The day has passed and nothing's done
And the whole world seems against me
When I'm rolling in my bed, there's a storm in my head
I'm afraid of sinking in despair.

CHORUS:

Teach me, Lord to have faith
In what you're bringing me will
Change my life and bring you glory &

There on the storm I am learning to let go
Of the will that I so long to control
There may I be in your arms eternally
I thank you, Lord, you are the calmer of the storm.

You rebuke the wind and the waves
Once again I find I'm amazed & the power of your will
Cuz I'm a child of little faith
I feel the wind and forget your grace
And you say, "Peace, be still."

There on the storm I am learning to let go
The white wave's high, it's crashing o'er the deck
And I don't know where I go
Where are you Lord, is my ship going down?
The mast is gone so throw the anchor
Should I jump and try to swim to land?

There on the storm, teach me God to understand
Of the Will that I just cannot control
There may I see all you love protecting me
I thank you Lord, you are the calmer of the storm.

Great song Stamper. The only group I have heard sing House That Mercy Built was Point of Grace. I believe the story behind it is that this was actually a home for unwed mothers and some of the proceeds from this song went to running that home.

I was actually talking about "What a difference You've made in My Life".

Yes you are right about the POG song...they told about the "house" at the concert we went to in Oct. 2001

Hey you guys! :)

I found these lyrics appropriate for my state of mind today...

NO WEAPON by Fred Hammond

No weapon formed against me shall prosper
It won't work

God will do what He said He would do
He will stand by His Word
He will come through

God will do what He said He would do
He's not a man that He should lie
He will come through
He will do what He said would do
He will stand by His Word

Oh I won't be afraid of the arrows by day
From the hand of the enemy
I can stand my ground with the Lord on my side
For the snares they have set will not succeed

Don't be afraid of the arrows or the snares
Set by your enemy
If you believe it say Ooo, Ooo.

There just ain't one. There just ain't one weapon....

God bless you all!!

I Love that song Robin! :)
Always so good to see you here!

Moving in silent desperation, keeping an eye on the Holy Land.
A hypothetical destination, say, who is this walking man?

Well, the leaves have come to turning and the goose has gone to fly,
And bridges are for burning, so don't you let that yearning pass you by.
Walking man, walking man walks.
Any other man stops and talks but the walking man walks.

Well the frost is on the pumpkin and the hay is in the barn.
Pappy's come to rambling on, stumbling around drunk down on the farm.

And the walking man walks. Doesn't know nothing at all.
Any other man stops and talks but the walking man walks on by, walk on by.

Most everybody's got seed to sow. It ain't always easy for a weed to grow, oh no.
So he don't hoe the row for no one, for sure he's always missing,
and something ain’t never quite right.
Ah, but who would want to listen to you kissing his existence good night?

Walking man walk. Walk on by my door. Well, any other man stops and talks
but not the walking man. He's the walking man, born to walk, walk on walking man.
Well now, would he have wings to fly? Would he be free?
Golden wings against the sky, walking man, walk on by.
So long, walking man.

The Great Divide-Point of Grace

Silence
Trying to fathom the distance
Looking out 'cross the canyon carved by my hands
God is gracious
Sin would still separate us
Were it not for the bridge His grace has made us
His love will carry me

Chorus
There's a bridge to cross the great divide
A way was made to reach the other side
The mercy of the Father, cost His son His life
His love is deep, His love is wide
There's a cross to bridge the great divide
God is faithful
On my own I'm unable
He found me hopeless, alone and sent a Savior
He's provided a path and promised to guide us
Safely past all the sin that would divide us
His love delivers me

Chorus
The cross that cost my Lord His life
Has given me mine
There's a bridge to cross the great divide
There's a cross to bridge the great divide

I've sat and watch the autumn rain
as it filled the rivers up again
I heard your gentle voice begin to sing
I love you

oh I,
I need your healing touch upon my head
I need your bread
and I
would jump into your river I would drown
to be alive in you

you havent changed since I've been gone
these desert days they seem to last so long
fall on my face begin to scream
I need you

Lanshark, POG has some excellent music! :)

Hes, I absolutely Love that song! :)

This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine!
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Hide it under a bushel? NO!
I'm gonna let it shine!
Hide it under a bushel? NO!
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Won't let Satan blow it out-
I'm gonna let it shine!
Won't let Satan blow it out-
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

Let it shine 'til Jesus comes,
I'm gonna let it shine!
Let it shine 'til Jesus comes,
I'm gonna let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine!

This scripture has really meant a lot to me, and I wanted to share it tonight with you guys :)

The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17

Zacchaeus was a wee little man, A wee little man was he.
He climbed up in a sycamore tree, the Savior for to see.

And when the Savior passed that way, He looked up in the tree,
And he said, “Zacchaeus, you come down from there;
For I’m going to your house today, for I’m going to your house today.”

And Zacchaeus came down from that tree, and he said,
“What a better man I’ll be. I’ll give my money to the poor.
What a better man I’ll be. What a better man I’ll be.”

Nice to see you here, Robin and Hes. Stop by more often. I like those.

Take Me

Here in this world it doesn't take long to discover the pain
I know all about the heartache that comes from enduring the strain
But there You are holding the innocence that I used to know
I'm longing to live in your holiness
Safe and sound, I'm letting go

Take my hand
Take my heart
Take me into Your arms where forever is waiting to start
Turning me into every dimension of You I am able to be
Here I am, reaching out, will You please
Take me, Take me

Take me through life
Take me to places that You want me near
Walking with me, holding my soul through the laughter and tears
Take me to where I am knowing You in the deepest way
And one day when You say my work is done
My time has come, You'll hear me say

repeat chorus

Bridge:
Lord, give me a heart You can use
I will be reaching for You

repeat chorus

--Billy Savion, Michael Lee

Only a little boy David, Only a babbling brook.
Only a little boy David, and five little stones he took.
One little stone went into the sling, and the sling went round and round.
One little stone went into the sling, and the sling went round and round.
Round and round, and round, and round, and round, and round, and round.
One little stone went up, up, up, and the giant came tumbling down.
