Good morning everyone! I just love this new song by 33 Miles. Have heard it a couple of times driving in, it really makes you stop and think. Hope you all enjoy! Have a great day!

33 Miles - One Life to Love

He never thought he cared so much about the minute hand
Until he started praying for, a second chance
If he could only do it all again
He'd trade the long nights that he spent behind his desk
For all he missed

He tells his wife, "I wish that this moment in this room was not me dying, but just spending a little time with you."

You only get just one time around
You only get one shot at this
One chance, to find out
The one thing that you don't wanna miss
One day when it's all said and done
I hope you see that it was enough, this
One ride, one try, one life...
To love....

She never thought she cared so much about those little hands
That held on tight the day she left
Til she was scared to death
Sitting all alone on a hotel bed, the end of the road
The sun had set on her big plans
To feel young again

She picks up the phone, dials the number, hears that little voice
That's haunted every single mile, since she made that choice

You only get just one time around
You only get one shot at this
One chance, to find out
The one thing that you don't wanna miss
One day when it's all said and done
I hope you see that it was enough, this
One ride, one try, one life...
To love............

You only get just one time around
Only get one shot at this
One chance, to find out
The one thing that you don't wanna miss
One day when it's all said and done
I hope you see that it was enough, this
One ride, one try, one life........
One ride, one try, one life........
To love....
To love....

My heart is so heavy for our country and where we are right now. I am not wanting to start a political discussion at all. I am just saying that our God is our only hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a song that seems to cry out what I am feeling now, at this point in our nation.

Glory
By Nichole Nordeman and Selah

One day eyes that are blind will see you clearly
And one day all who deny will finally believe
One day hearts made of stone will break in pieces
And one day chains once unbroken will fall down at your feet
So we wait for that one day come quickly

Chorus
We want to see your Glory
Every knee falls down before thee
Every tongue offers you praise
With every hand raised
Singing Glory
To you and unto you only
We'll sing Glory to Your name

One day voices that lie will all be silent
One day all that's divided will be whole again
One day death will retreat and wave it's white flag
One day love will defeat the strongest enemy
So we wait for that one day come quickly

Chorus

We know not the day or the hour
Or the moments in between
But we know the end of the story
When we'll see

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
3 Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.

Selah.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered;
He raised His voice, the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD,
Who has wrought desolations in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariots with fire.
10 “Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.

Hey TLHB70

Just remember, whatever happens, God is still sovreign, He is still on the throne, He is in control and God works all things to God to those who are called according to His purpose.

Jesus Never Fails - Truth
Words & Music by: Gary Driskell
Featuring Shawn & Lee Ann and Tim & Bridget Dill

Verse 1
So many souls have tested Him throughout the course of time.
So many still reach out to Him with broken hearts and minds.
And every one of them will say,
Without exception that they find…
Jesus never fails...
Verse 2
Even in the days of old, He brought His people through.
And then He came to show His love and died for me and you.
Then He rose again to prove,
That every story has been true…
Jesus never fails…
Chorus
Jesus never fails. Jesus never fails.
You might as well get thee behind me, Satan
You cannot prevail, because Jesus never fails.
Verse 3
Sometimes this world brings trouble I find so hard to bear.
I know I could not make it without Jesus being there.
It’s so encouraging to know,
How ever deep we’re in despair…
Jesus never fails.
Verse 4
So what can I do to prove to you, tell me how can you deny?
No untold facts, no mysteries, it’s all so cut and dried.
On the witness stand of your life,
I’ll be the first to testify…
Jesus never fails!
Repeat Chorus
I know… Repeat Chorus
Tag
You might as well get thee behind me, Satan
You cannot prevail, because Jesus never fails.
Never fails…

I know that you are right, Cristy. I also keep thinking about Steven Curtis Chapman's song, "King of the Jungle." What I am seeing now is telling me that this world has gone crazy, but what is real is that God is still on His throne.......... That is so true. I am thankful for that. He is not up in heaven scratching His head over it all. It is just hard for me at times. When I look around and see these events, listen to the news, hear the arguments about it all, it just gets to me at times; I have to admit. I confess I get scared about what the world will be like when my girls are my age. What will they be facing? However, they both are HIS children, too. He loves them more than I do. He is their Shepherd, Father, and Savior. He will get them through, get us through, all of this.

I am praying fervently over this upcoming election, our nation, the economy, and the outcomes of it all.

This song has ministered to me today.

Prayer - Carman

Nothing is impossible
Nothing's out of reach
All good things will come to those
Who faithfully believe

When you see a mountain
Staning in your way
Know that it will move for you
If only you will pray

CHORUS
'Cause prayer can move a mountain
Prayer can stop the doubt
And prayer can calm the raging heart
of unbelief
For I know when I go on my knees
God will move for me
And prove what He can do
Through prayer

Somewhere there's a miracle
Waiting 'round the bend
How He's blessed you in the past
He'll do it once again

You're not forgotten
Or been turned away
The Lord's about to move for you
If only you will pray

REPEAT CHORUS

I know that He won't leave me all alone
The Lord has kept me safe till now
He'll show me when
He'll show me how
And I know that I can't make it on my own
But with the power of God in me
There's nothing great that I can't be
No mountain high, no valley low
Will change my mind 'cause this I know

REPEAT CHORUS

Move, move, right now
Holy Spirit

Good morning friends!

I’m Not Afraid – Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir

CHORUS:
I’m not afraid of the darkness
Whom shall I fear if God be for me
What shall we say to these things
What shall we say to these things
I’m not afraid anymore
I’m not afraid anymore
(Repeat)

What can separate you from the love of God?
Nothing shall separate me from the love of God
Shall famine separate you from the love of God
No, nothing shall separate me from the love of God

REPEAT CHORUS

What can separate you from the love of God?
Nothing shall separate me from the love of God
Shall persecution separate you from the love of God?
No, nothing shall separate me from the love of God

I’m not afraid of the darkness
Whom shall I fear if God be for me
What shall we say to these things
What shall we say to these things
I’m not afraid anymore
I’m not afraid
I’m not afraid
I’m not afraid
Anymore
(Repeat)

Song by Eddie Carswell and Babbie Mason - God is too Wise

All things work for our good
though sometimes we cant see how they could.
Struggles that break our hearts in two
sometimes blind us to the truth.
Our Father knows whats best for us;
His ways are not our own.
So, when your pathway grows dim,
and you just cant see Him,
Remember Hes still on the throne.

God is too wise to be mistaken.
God is too good to be unkind.
So when you dont understand,
when you dont see His plan,
When you cant trace His hand, trust His heart.

He sees the Master plan.
He holds the future in His hands.
So dont live as those who have no hope.
All our hope is found in Him.
We walk in present knowledge,
but He sees the first and the last.
And like a tapestry, Hes weaving you and me
to someday be just like Him.

God is too wise to be mistaken.
God is too good to be unkind.
So when you dont understand,
when you dont see His plan,
When you cant trace His hand, trust His heart.

I am praying fervently over this upcoming election, our nation, the economy, and the outcomes of it all.

My son really made me proud this morning. He's 18. He voted for the first time. The candidate he voted for did not win. But this morning on his Facebook status he said:

"God bless the President-Elect and our country. Soli Deo Gloria!" (to God alone goes the glory).

:goodvibes Sounds like he has a really good grasp of scripture. I've talked to lots of Christians who can't find it in themselves to pray or honor officials that oppose our views but that indeed is what we are instructed to do. :thumbsup2 Kudos to you for raising such a nice young man.

My daughters and I talked about that very thing this morning.
Our candidate did not win this election. However, God knows and is still in control. We must honor and show respect to the authority over us. We must pray for our leaders. We prayed for the newly elected officials this morning. We also prayed for our country.

My mom is really sick. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2002133

This song has really ministered to me over the last couple of days.

33 Miles – I Loved You Then

Pain touches everyone
Heartache falls on every heart
And all of us go through the storm, it doesn’t matter who you are
And you’re up against the wind, and you feel you’ve lost your way
Listen to me say

CHORUS
I loved you then, I love you now
I will love you tomorrow
When this world breaks you down
I will give you strength to stand
Look to me, take my hand and just believe
Before this day ever began, I loved you then

Time changes everything
Moments fly by like the wind
You can try to hold on so tight but you’ll never get time back again
You feel stuck with your mistakes, can’t turn anything around
And it seems there’s no way out

REPEAT CHORUS

I won’t let you go, not even for a minute
So don’t lose hope
Pain touches everyone
Heartache falls on every heart

REPEAT CHORUS

Has anyone heard any of the Casting Crowns Christmas CD? (sorry if this has already been covered). If so, what do you think? Thanks!

No but I do want to get it. I think Lifeway has it on sale, life has just been to crazy for me to get by there. Casting Crowns is such a talented group of people, I don't see how it could be anything but outstanding.

Praying that your mom is better soon! Hang in there.

Galahad, I did not know that Casting Crowns had a Christmas CD out. Thank you so much for posting about it! I will definitely be getting this for my iPod. I just checked it out on iTunes after reading your post, (I have been away from the computer for a few days.) and I am so excited about it! Casting Crowns is a wonderful group, and all of their music is great IMO. Their new Christmas CD has a few of my favorite Christmas songs........Sweet Little Jesus Boy; O Come, O come Emmanuel; and Joy to the World.

Cristy, I am so sorry to read about your mother. I will pray for God to touch her and be with all of you, her family, at this time.

Picked it up and I'm listening to it while I work right now. It's very good. The instrumental of O Come Emmanuel is wonderful! I also picked up two others that are explicitly "contemporary Christian" artists that I'll listen to later - Anuna - Chrsitmas Memories and the Annie Moses Band - This Glorious Christmas (they are a family that play strings and sing, went to Julliard - very cool stuff). Also picked up Yo-yo Ma & Friends - Songs of Joy and Peace. Lots of Classical on that but also some interesting looking collaborations with Diana Krall, Dave Brubeck, James Taylor, Edger Meyer. I love the "new Christmas album season".

Thanks for telling me about your Christmas music Galahad! I absolutely love Christmas time! It is my favorite time of the year. Actually, I have already started playing/listening to my Christmas music. Our local Christian radio station is now playing it on weekends until December. They started that on November 1. So it has put me in the mood, and I am playing my CDs and iPod Christmas favorites! I just checked out the ones you mentioned. I really like the Anuna CD, and I LOVED the Annie Moses Band CD. I think I will purchase that entire CD from iTunes. There are a couple of songs from Anuna that I will purchase as well (Silent Night, Away in a Manger).

Do any of you have a favorite version/artist of Carol of the Bells?
I really love that song. I want to add it to my iPod, but I am having trouble picking which version I want. I love the Celtic Woman version, Steven Curtis Chapman version, and John Williams version. I am open for recommendations. I would love to learn about all of your favorites.

I love TSO. Any of you fans? Last year I got a set of 3 CDs with the DVD from one of their live performances. Can't wait to pull it out an listen to it while putting up the Christmas tree.

Do any of you have a favorite version/artist of Carol of the Bells?

Claymation, of course! :)

OK, I've since listened to the Yo-Yo Ma Christmas Album (Yo-Yo Ma and Friends - Songs of Joy and Peace). It's definitely my Favorite of the year. Wow!!!! Lots of great guests with him. A wonderful recording of the Wexford Carol with Alison Krauss! All the way through each of his guests do an improvisation with him on Dona Nobis Pacem. Amazing stuff!
