Hello everyone!

I wanted to start this thread for anyone interested in getting to know other Christian CP's. We can use this thread to discuss topics such as churches in the surrounding area. Also I want to see who would be interested in forming a small bible study. Or any other topics that come up!

I found a list of churches near Disney:

that seems really cool! i am Mormon(the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) so i am totally open to this! :D ha ha. besides, i need to get to know my bible better anyways

I would love to be a part of a bible study! Although I will try to get to church when possible, I'm not counting on being able to go on a regular basis, so a small bible study might be easier to fit into my schedule.

Does anyone know if there are any Assemblies of God churches in the area? I don't think there are quite as many of them in Florida as there are here in the Midwest. If not, I'm sure I could find somewhere else I would feel comfortable!

I found a website which has a list of churches near Disney. However, check the church websites to get a feel for them, you might find a church other than an Assembly of God church.

I'm African Methodist and I was looking for a church around the area too (but since I dont have a car and neither does my roomie I might not be able to make it to church) but I think bible study would be awesome!

Awesome idea! I like the Bible study idea. I consider myself to be Roman Catholic (I'm in RCIA, preparing to convert Easter 2010) so it would be great to have that activity while I'm there to "ground myself". LOL.

That would be great! I'm a non-denominational Christian. I didn't want to go too far away from my church, and if I got accepted to the program, I was planning on driving 45 minutes south to one of my church's branch church in Daytona Beach. But if there's a church closer to Disney, that would be PERFECT! oh, and the Bible Study idea is perfect! I would so be a part of that!

I know there are a lot of denominations to which people belong. If we would form some sort of Bible study, I was thinking something along the lines of reading a Book of the Bible chapter/section at a time and discussing it in a group format.

From what I've been reading, if a CP has days off, it's usually the same days. However, there is also the possibility of having two different days. This way, it is more flexible and could work around schedules depending if you work or not.

James is very practical and always a good Book to study.

The bible study sounds great! I dont know how busy I'd be being in Disney but that sounds awesome.

I have a feeling the only whorshoping ill have time for will be to Walt Disney ;P

I'm totally down with Bible Study! As long as we'll have time...:woohoo: I know my church holds services in one of the hotels or something super close ever Sunday morning and a shorter service at the apt. complex lounge Sunday evenings for those who couldn't make it if they were working. Anyone is welcome :cool1:

Cool! Good to see some other good Christians going to WDW! I would love to try to make it to some awesome bible studies! I'm game!!:thumbsup2

Hey guys,

I am Christian non-denom and have been checking out some churches in the area. Two neat ones seem to be Discovery Church and First Baptist Church of Orlando. Below are the URLs. There are a few groups on Facebook that are for bible studies and church carpooling. The links are below as well. They are just not that active. Maybe we can change that?

I had the idea to have a prayer meeting once all of the Fall CPs get there to sort of kick off the season with a bang. There can be music, small group prayer, large group prayer, anything. Plus, it would be a great way to get to know other people. It of course would be open to all denominations, faiths (or lack there of). Let me know what you think. I started a discussion forum on it in the "Christian Church group for Disney College Program Fall 2009"

Thank you to the person who started this forum by the way. It is needed and appreciated. :)

I always poke fun of the cult following of my Disney family in comparision to a religion- but Jesus hes a monster of a pixie, and I love him.

so ya i need to find me a good church if i get accepted down there and need to go more indepth with him but in a fun humorous light.

up here around my college my fellow christian followers create a "click" as we like to call it, and only spend time with other christian not reaching out which is talking the talk...but not fully showing the true spirit....

Aaww...ok i will stop ranting-
bible study would be hott!
just praying to get down there first!
