Christa's journal to insanity!

Ran 3.5 with an ave 8:30 pace...I was huffing it though....my cold is trying to get worse.:headache:

Ran around 6 today with an ave pace btween 8 and 8:30.
I was feeling very sluggish today so I did not think I was going at that pace.

Boy this is a boring journal!

Hello

I don't think your journal is boring!! It's a great way to keep track of what you are doing. I just read your run report from the training thread to my husband and he said " I just don't know how people can keep up that pace for that long" He's so silly, I guess he forgets about the 9:10 pace we did the 1/2 in a week a go.

But seriously your times are a real inspiration to us. My goal for the Minnie 15k is to get some serious kick-but time.:yay:

Thanks for the inpiration. VERY CUTE PIC BY THE WAY!!

Angie

Thanks Angie for the kind words!
I guess I think that just posting times and the length of the run is boring. But it does help to keep up with where I am at.
I know you will kick butt at Minnie!:cool1:

I am posting my LR reprt from the WISH thread so I will have it here.

LR Report: 16 miles! 2/24/07
Yes, I did 16 Saturday. I started around 0730 and it was around 27 degrees. Did the 1st 8 by myself with a pace of around 8:30...this seems to be my pace lately. Then I met up with sis and ran with her. She is training for her 1st 1/2 marathon and we ave a pace of 11:15. We had a blast...well I did anyway.
Here is a pic of me and SIS! She has on the sun glasses. Remember I had already run 8 miles when this pic was taken...That is why I look so bad!

I have been really sick for the past week so I did not run until Friday (yesterday). Did 10 miles with sis.
May bike today if I get the chance.

Take care of yourself and get healthy Christa. Here's some PD :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:. Is the amoxicillin kicking in yet?

I did end up running yesterday. Took JRT out, but the wind was kick'n chick'n so bad, her ears were standing straight up! So after a mile, I took her back in. Then I went out. I am not lying, I could hardly move...I was running in place, so after another mile, I said forget it and went back home.

So 2 miles after hiking with princess: princess: ! Not great, but I just didn't have it in me.

I may sign up for a 1/2 marathon for next weekend. Not sure yet, but would like to see how fast I could do it. Will see if I am fully recovered from this whatever I have had.:headache:

That stinks about the wind, it is very hard to run in the wind. When we do our long runs we run across a bridge out to the beach and sometimes I feel like we are not getting anywhere because of the wind. It takes so much of your energy just to fight that resistance. DH never understands either because he is twice my size, so he has more resistance, if you know what I mean??;)

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and I think you should do the 1/2 next weekend!! Go for it. What's the worse that can happen, right?

Angie

I hope you're feeling better, Christa!

Your journal/log is AMAZING! What an accomplishment!

Have a great week & get better!

Well I am officially out of training:confused3 ! My Antibiotic is upsetting my tummy, Work has almost killed me, and I have had no energy. So I have not run much. Took DDs on a mile run/walk yesterday and they had fun....
I have danced in a show and rehersal almost all day yesterday too.

I also signed up for the 1/2 on Saturday. Doing it by myself and just going to have fun. And see how fast I can do a 1/2...
I was at the 1/2 mark at WDW in 1:58 or 1:57...so I think that may be my goal.

Thanks everyone that reads this! You guys ROCK!

Christa--Love reading your training reports--I should really start journaling mine, so I can look back on it for the good, bad, and the ugly! Oh, and I had to chuckle with you signing up for a 1/2 "just for fun!" ;)

Hey all! I am so not good at keeping up with this journal. So here is my training for the past few days...

Friday:
Ran 1 mile with some friends who are just starting out. This reminded me that running really isn't easy. I tend to forget that.

Saturday:
Ran the 1/2 marathon. Finished in 1:54. You can see my report here!
http://journals.aol.com/gatorphipps/PhippsFamily/

Sunday:
I danced in a show. And that, I tell you, was a workout!

Monday:
Still sore! But not sure if it is from the show or the 1/2 or both!:confused3 So I got on the bike and did 10 easy miles...into a head wind.:rotfl:

Today is Tuesday!
Not sure yet what I will do. I am waiting for the man to come and fix my fridge. It broke down SUNDAY!:scared1: We will see.

Tuesday:
I walked about 1.5 miles with princess: ,princess: , and pluto: . But that is all! Except eating Sushi then cookies! :scared1:

Wednesday:
Nothing today except work all day. I am just so tired...Maybe I need to get to bed instead of watching Idol tonight. Yeah right! Have to work late tonight and tomorrow night AHHHH!

Who will get me back to training?:confused3

Um, "Who will get you back in training"???? I want to see how fast you'll be once you're officially training Ms. 1:54 half marathon!!!:rotfl2: ;)

It is Thursday and I went to run. I was with some friends and did not want them to have to wait on me so I bagged the 4 miles and did 3. They were doing 2 miles. It is warm here but is supposed to rain.
Do not know the time b/c I did not take a watch with me.
My knee is bothering me a little.:confused3 I find this weird b/c I have hardly done anything this week. It is popping a little and everyonce in a while it hurts...but there is no reason for the hurt and it really isn't bad. Oh, and it does not hurt when I run!
Off to work!

Normally this is a LR day, but it was pouring the rain and I am not really in training so I did 4 miles on the dreadmill....
1/2 way through, one of my friends, who is a police man came and turned my treadmill up to 8. He said I wasn't even breathing hard (at a 7) so I needed to be running faster. AHHHH!

Went trail running today. Don't know the distance, but did 40 min of HILL WORK! Wow, it was so cool! I love to run on trails. I need to train more on them so I can place in October on the Triple Lakes Trail Marathon.
I did it in 5 hour last year, but ran with a friend who was sick. The girl in my age group who won (the age group) did it in 4:22...Either that shows how hard the race was, or I will slam it this year.
Then, I picked up DDs and walked the trails with them. What took me 10 min running, took us about 45 walking and collecting every rock and stick on the path.;)

OK...Now I know I did at least 4.6 miles...more really, b/c when I was mapping it out, I could not see the trail so I just went in a straight line to get the mileage...I NEED A GARMIN...but, it was so woodsy that the garmin may not have picked up.

Monday:
Ran 4.5 miles in 38 min....that is an ave 8:26 pace. Did it with JRT and had a blast! It was cool but sunny so I think that helped. Ran in my neighborhood so got some great hill work in.
I am learning a new dance for Friday, so I danced at least 4 hours...not fast dancing...it is kinda like tie-chi (SP?) but I am sore b/c of it.

Tuesday:
Had a show today and it went GREAT! Will count it as xtraining b/c it is very active show...running up and down stairs, dancing, jumping around...and all this with a full costume on...very HOT!:dance3:
Did Yoga for 30 min and 100 sit ups.
I am TIRED, but do not have rehearsal tonight, so I can rest!

Wednesday - Worked ALL DAY!

Thursday - Ran between 9 and 10 miles on the trail with JRT. Did this in 1:15.

Friday - Was on the drama team for a women's confrence at our church...oh wait, I was the drama team....HaHa! DDs were out of school, so just hung with them the rest of the day.

Saturday - Ran 6 miles with Bree. Not sure of the time b/c I did not start my watch.

Sunday - biked 22.5 miles today after church (and a VERY ACTIVE show I did). Did this in 1:30 something. Max speed was 28 MPH!:scared1: It was a very hilly course.

Monday - Ran 4 miles on the trail...actually a little futher, b/c I had to find a place to use the bathroom!:scared1:

Tuesday - xtrained with the "Little Red Hen" show.popcorn::

Today is my LONG day at work, so I may bike to DD's school between clients to pick them up or may run at that time then just drive to the school. Or, I may just have to take this as a rest day.
