Monday (May7th) Mow the yard, clean the house, work in the garden! WOW. I was sore the next morning....am I out of shape?:rotfl:

Tuesday May 8th - DREADMILL! 5 miles in 41 min....around an 8:15 MPM. If I could only keep this up for 26.2 miles! I would be Boston bound! Then did ab work on the ball.

Wednesday - Biked on stationary bike :scared1: for 30 min...then som leg presses and calf raises!

Does eating 1/2 a box of my DD's Luck Charms count as carb loading? Not sure what I am carb loading for...but it makes me feel better to think I am doing it for a reason.
 
OK! So I figured out what I was carb loading for...see previous post about my carb loading.:rotfl:
Thursday I had the great idea:rolleyes: to look at some ultra traning plans. I may do an ultra of 40 miles in October. Note the MAY! I printed out some plans and have made one of my own kinda.

SO........

Thursday - I ran with JRT, 9.? miles. We were cruse'n until around mile 8 then she thought it was a good idea to stop running. Poor dog, she had already run 8 miles on those little JRT feet. So we averaged around a 8:50 MPM.....actually we were going faster, but with all the stopping at the end, that is what it came out to be.

Friday - I ran 16!:eek: :yay: :scared1: I tried to really slow it down a bit and the 1st 2 miles were around a 9.30 MPM....but then I went back to my normal speed. So the Ave pace (including ALL the trafic stops) was 9 MPM. This run was a total mind game for me. I wanted to quit every step of the way until mile 8. I took my gel and things got a little better. I also was SO HUNGRY the whole run. I ate my normal PB&J but I don't think I had enough to eat the night b/4. I did drink a ton though!
OOOOOH! I took a cold...not ice...but cold soaking bath afterwards. After the SHOCK of the cold H2O...it felt great. My family really thinks I have lost it now.:3dglasses

Saturday - My legs are a bit tight. I don't think I will run or bike today...but who knows. May take DDs on a walk.
 
Saturday ended up just working in the yard until it rained.

Sunday MOTHERS DAY..was going to bike, but DD6 had an allergic reaction to something.

Monday (5/14) - Ran 5 miles on treadmill...40.20 ...8:04 MPM!:cool1:

Hope to bike tomorrow...
I have a 0930 Dr. appointment for him to recheck the clump of cysts in my....well you know, where I had the mammogram. Then I may bike. Why do they weigh me EVERYTIME I go to the OBGYN. I just went less than a month ago!:headache:
 
Weight was 113...I was fully clothed!:scared1: Thats cool. I hate to be weighed though. BP 110/60...it is normally like 90/60, but I was a little jittery about being at the Dr. So that is why it was high I bet.
Anywho....The cyst had not grown any and looked good.

Then I rode 19 miles on the bike. It was an easy ride with a slower pace....btwn 14-16 MPH. Trying to keep it easy for the 5k on Saturday.
 

Thursday - Ran a practice 5k around my neighborhood....24:17...1st mile was 7:14:scared1: , but I almost died! Lungs coould not get enough air!

Friday - I am getting everything ready for the race. Just chill'n today and tonight....well training wise.
Got the Ipod ready with the playlist...now charging it.
Laying out all my stuff and hope to go to bed a little earlier.
Ate pasta!popcorn::

I have enjoyed reading your journal and being inspired by your hard work and results! Just wondering if there is an "ask Christa" thread or a "coach Christa" thread. I have a ton of questions and would like advice from someone like you, juggling life with kids and your own fitness and goals. I couldn't find anything like this using the "search" function but I can be technically challenged! Sorry to post here if this is inappropriate:confused3.

Great job in your 5k!! I'm so impressed!

5/25 Friday - Ran 18.5
12 by myself in 1:43 (8:35 pace)
6.5 with Bree in 1:18

5/26 Saturday - Biked 12 very HILLY miles....
8 with DSIL and DSIS
last 4 by myself.
Played tug-o-war with boat the rest of the day...AKA knee boarding:rotfl:

5/27 Sunday - Swam for fun with DDs and DH all day.

5/28 Monday - Ran around 6 VERY HILLY miles in 51 minutes I need to map it out to be sure.

5/29 Tuesday - Ran 5 miles around a track...46 min...DDs were with me so I did have to stop every so often to take care of issues!:rolleyes1
3 hour rehearsal that night!

5/30 Wednesday - no training...4 hour Dress rehearsal!

5/31 Thursday ran 3 miles in 25 min around same track with DDs in tow....They were really good. Last rehearsal tonight!:cool1:
 
Saturday (6/1/07)
Ran 14 today! 12 by myself and the last 2 with bree...ended up being a 9mpm....but I know I was going aroung 8:30 at first.

TOTALS!
28 miles of running


No biking for this week!
 
Sunday (6/3)- BMA Show for xtraining

Monday (6/4) - Cleaning house...:lmao:

Tuesday (6/5) - 5 miles around the indoor track!:scared1: pace was 9 MPM..just wasn't feeling it today!

Wednesday (6/6) - 4 miles around the neighborhood...very hilly, hot and humid! Ran after work around 2000 (8pm). Was really tired but still managed a 8:30 MPM

Thursday (6/7) Biked 10 miles...10 min at a time so I could keep an eye on DDs princess: princess: ! They were home playing the Wii and i would go around the block then check back with them.

Friday (6/8) - Biked 50 miles!

Saturday (6/9) - Hope to run 14 tomorrow!

Totals (based on my Saturday run):
Biked: 60 miles
Ran: 23 miles
...this suffered b/c of my skipping out on Sunday and Monday.:rolleyes1
 
OK I have to re-do my running mileage for last week.

I did not run 14 Saturday but 12...so the mileage for last week was as follows....

Running 21 miles
Biking still 60

Need to take in my bike b/c I had to call DH to pick me up Friday after the bike ride..I was going to ride 3 more miles home...but my front wheel is making a funny sound. I think the break is rubbing the wheel a little...maybe I neeed the wheels aligned (SP?).
SO...will talk to the bike shop some time this week.....

Saturdays run was really HARSH (my new cool word;) ). Like I said I only did 12 instead of my planned 14. I could only squeeze out a 9 mpm for the 1st 8 then I met Bree and ran the last 4 with her. I think it was about a 12 MPM.

I think my run was really hard for several reasons:
1. I biked 50 miles the day b/4...yes my bum was still a little sore.:rolleyes1
2. I had a show the night b/4 and did not get in bed until midnight...that does not mix well with getting up at 0500.:eek:
3. My clothes were dripping b/c it was so hot and humid....even at 0600.:scared: I need to remember that heat slows times down. I just hate going above a 9 mpm.:headache:
4. Mind games....the run was not in me today. I think I am tired.:sick:

Sunday: I xtrained with doing the last show (of 4) of the weekend....I took a nap after church.
 
Monday (6/11) I went to run but the thunder stopped me about 1.6 miles into it.:mad:

Tuesday (6/12) Ran 10 miles in 1:26.23...this is an 8:38.3 MPM.

Wednesday (6/13) Cleaned bike chain and pumped up tires. Was going to ride around 12 miles but the thunder storm that has been messing up my WOs showed up again.:headache: :mad: I am getting tired of this....does the weather not realize that it is messing with the weekly mileage???
 
Thursday (6/14)A kinda brick WO...with Biking and running...
I biked 1st then ran..and swiched back and forth...here is the breakdown:
Bike: 3 miles (12 min)
Run 1 mile (8.31 min)
Bike 3 miles (12.14 min)
Run 1 mile (8.42 min)
Bike 3 miles (12.30 min)
Run 1 mile (8.53 min)
Bike 3 miles (14 min as a cool down)
It was really hot! and I had to stop off at the house btwn each switch to check on the girls.
But got....
3.09 miles of running
and
12 miles of biking
so thats cool.

Friday (6/15)
I did my LR this morning. Was supposed to be 14 again but somehow my mapping was off so got in 13.4. I don't know how I mapped it wrong. But whatever....

Did the 1st 8.8 by myself. I must have been drag'n b/c I was doing an 8.58 MPM.. Seems slow, but the run was easy so that may be right.
Then met Bree for the last 4.6 at an 11.18 pace. I was so evil...she may tell you about it. The last hill, I made her run up it...(insert evil laugh!) But there will come a time when she thanks me for it.

I am going to go ahead and post my weeks totals b/c I am through for the week.

Biking: 12 miles
Running: 28.09 miles
xtraining: 4 shows of the week and 2 dance rehearsals


Biking should have been more b/c I was going to go this morning (Saturday) for a 20+ mile ride. I woke up around 0530 and my knees were sore so I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep until 0800!:cloud9:
I also have 2 shows today so will be acting/dancing/and changing costumes like mad from 1230 until 2200.:scared1: Thats a WO!

Tomorrow is a new day.;)
 
Wednesday (6/20) - Just got back from a 14.1 mile bike ride. I would ride 10 min then stop back by my house and check on my princess: princess: . So with all the stopping, I ave a little over 14 MPH...I rode for an hour.
Alsh have been doing sit ups throughout the day...will post how many at the end of the day.

Tuesday (6/19) - Ran 3 miles around an indoor track. (20 laps = 1 mile :eek: ) Here are my splits, but I know I forgot to count a few laps with my little clicker so the 1st 2 miles may be faster than I am posting.
mile 1: 9 min
mile 2: 9 min
mile 3: 8 min....after the slower times in the 1st 2 miles, and realizing I had forgotten to click the lap counter...I was really trying to make sure I clicked it each time I did a lap.

Monday (6/18) - I took princess: princess: swimming, but did no organized WO.

Sunday (6/17) - 2 High energy shows and 1 rehearsal! So this is my Xtraining!
 
Wednesday (6/21)Redux.....Like I said, I biked 14.1 miles Wednesday. This took an hour. Then I ran for an hour after dropping my princess: princess: off at VBS. Not sure of the mileage so I am guessing I ran 6.5 miles to 7 miles at least. I normally do 7 in an hour but I was mixing up some speed training and recovery so I may not have done 7.:confused3 Then I got in 30 sit ups.

So that is my Wednesday.

Thursday (6/21) - I may use this as a rest day so I can be strong for my LR tomorrow. Planning on 14....again.;)
 
I was starting to wonder how you were doing!! It didn't seem we had heard from you in a while on the weekly group. Glad to know you are doing well, and GIRL if I haven't told you before ..... You Kick Butt!! Biking for 14 Miles then running another 6.5-7. All that with everything else you do. I don't know how you do it!!

Here is my Friday (6/22) LR report. Well if you can call it a LR....Remember the 14 mile goal, for the past 3 weeks? Well some force of nature must be working against me b/c once again it did not happen.

All I can say is IBS! If you don't know what that means consider yourself very blessed! Lets just say I know where EVERY port-o-jon is on this rout now!:eek:

Well here is the breakdown of the run in 4 segments:
1. Met Bree at the DOWD YMCA @ 0600. Went to the bathroom and put on water belt and around 0608 started running. We started together but I added on and caught up with her throughout the run.
2. 1st 3 miles were good. My average was a 7:25.9 MPM. I was trying to run faster so I could catch up with Bree....remember at this point, I had added a mile onto this route.
3. The next 4.68 is where it started going bad! I met up with her (she was running btwn 10/11 MPM) and we ran about a mile together. Then I broke off and did a loop around Freedom Park. This added on .7 miles. After leaving the park, I started feeling bad. I then started stopping at every port-o-jon along the route. My pace went down significantly (SP?)...to a 8:45.6 MPM.:eek: I guess all the stopping put me behind.
4. At this point I bagged the additional 2.something miles and just met back up with Bree. I ran the next 3.75 miles of it with her. I was OK during this part b/c I was running an 11:15.2 MPM. This made it easier to finish the run.

The total mileage was 11.39 @ 1:45.57
For me, this averages out to be a 9:18.1 MPM. Not proud, but at least I made it through the run.
