Chris & Patrick's VWL 7/5/13 Floral Update!!! 1/18/13

I am so excited to see another WL bride. We are having our VR there in 2013. It's such a beautiful resort, we are visiting the terrace for the first time this May. :goodvibes

I love your ring! I can't wait to read more about your plans. :)

Here's today's dilemma!

I've decided (and I use that term loosely [using "loosely" is akin to calling Jerry Lewis only kinda goofy] , lol!) that I will probably do my own hair, nails and makeup. I'm still considering having it all done for me, but I'm pretty sure I'd like to do the MK photo shoot the day of the wedding. From what I understand, it would be at like 5 or 6 in the am. We're planning to have the ceremony at 2:30. This means I'd most likely need to touch up and refresh myself anyway, so I was thinking why not just do it all myself from the get-go?

Thoughts, anyone?

Saturday is my dress fitting, and I'm super excited. P is going to be my official photographer [:rolleyes1], lol! I'm planning to do my hair, shoes and jewelry so I can see if the reality looks like it does in my head! [Babe, nothing looks like it does in your head pirate::littleangel:]
Just passing through. . .:cool2:

Ooooh! Another VWL bride!!! A small, but select few! ;)

You will TOTALLY love it there! It has a breathtaking view. I have a picture somewhere we took on a past trip in the early hours of the am on the last day of our trip (I always have to find some way to delay going home, lol!). I'll see if I can find it.

PS~ Do you have a planning journal?

Watch it, Mister!!!!!

YOWZERS!! BLING EVERYWHERE ON YOUR RING! Where is my sunglasses when i need them :cool2:  Congrats on your BIG day :goodvibes

I'm joining in! :) Your engagement ring is gorgeous! :cutie: I think doing the MK photo shoot on the same day will work just fine with your ceremony time. Our BEO lists 6:15 am as the time they pick us up for our two-park photo shoot at the MK and HS.

Episode 2—The Hook

Now, the mission before me was to make the formal proposal special. By formal, I mean the benchmark moment we can recount to our grandkids, friends, DisBoarders, et.al., not a truly stuffy occasion since we are anything but. I had avoided the whole “Parking Lot Proposal” which ranks low on my exceptional memories list, just below “Proposal over Coffee” though well ahead of “Grocery Line Checkout Proposal.” But that avoidance crystallized the fact I had to come up with a memorable plan.

My first thoughts naturally revolved around making this a true Disney moment and proposing there. Yet, there was a catch: how to do so secretly? You see, I did wish to make the special moment a surprise. Life is nothing if not full of them, unintended ones and inconsequential ones. They come in heartbreaking sizes and giant, miraculous-sized ones. And sometimes they are life-affirming, meaningful surprises that give us a tether to all that is good. That’s what I was after. A Disney proposal would be tough given that I had painted myself into a timetable corner with the fake arrival date of the ring. Moreover, the cost involved would not be small since we’d both have to take off work in addition to financing an unplanned trip. Finally, Chris most certainly would know something was afoot if I initiated a trip before our planned one in November.

Did I mention that LOML quizzed me daily on the status of the ring until I finally gave her a date? The date I gave her? February 24th. Why that date? Well, she wanted to go back to Jared’s to personally check on the status of the ring, and she would not be stopped. Uh, that was not gonna happen seeing as I had the ring in my shorts drawer! So, I grabbed at a date that would serve two purposes: 1) it would happen sooner than we could take a drive back to Jared’s; and, 2) it would soothe LOML in that she could point to a for sure, NLT date. Besides, after a couple of weeks after getting the ring, I had an idea. . .necessity IS the mother of invention.

Sure enough, Chris was thrilled when I told her the ring would be ready by the weekend of the 24th, and she immediately planned to the secure the ring on a trip that very weekend.

“I knew you’d want to go down to Jared’s after you found out, “ I beamed broadly. Little did she know that I had set the stage for a grand surprise. . . :cool2:

This is what episodic literature and media is all about--the anticipation. I shall have another installment coming soon. I could always do like the producers did with HARRY POTTER and split the final segment into two installments, though. . .hmmmmm. . .pirate:

DUN DUN DUN........
Oh, what have I done?! (LOL no pun intended! oops!)
I will reluctantly agree to your final segment two installment suggestion, IF you provide a teaser post that enhances said anticipation during our proposed wait time. It's only fair! ;)

First of all. In defense of myself, (since I apparently AM the only one defending myself!) I was NOT planning a SWAT stealth attack on Jared's. I DID, however, make the LOML promise to call them on a weekly basis for updates. I mean, really, what's a girl to do? :rotfl:

Now that we have that out of the way....

Today was my first official dress fitting! I decided to do the whole makeup, hair, jewelry, shoe thing so that I could see if everything looked in reality like it looked in my head. (Oh, shut up, you!)

And. Guess what?! It did!

This is makeup and earrings. I was trying to decide upon 2 different earrings.

I chose...Drumroll, please!

The earring on the left. As you're looking at the picture. The smaller, more white one. I also think my makeup came out pretty good, but truthfully, I never have a "bad" makeup day, so I was pretty confident about that.

Next we have hair.

I was less confident with doing my own hair, but so far, it's come out pretty good every time too.

Shoes:

I love both pairs, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my sparkly ones. They're the ones on the right.

And, saving the best for last!!!!

THE dress!!

Now it's a wrinkled mess, of course, but I think it will turn out EXACTLY like I pictured in my head! However, as the seamstress said, "it fits like a glove!"

Which it did. But. That is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing in the sense that it will most definitely keep me diet controlled for the next year. And a curse in the sense that it will most definitely keep me diet controlled for the next year!!! It may be a long year for Patrick!!!

Love all the choices!! That dress is so pretty, I'm all about clean and simple and IMHO that's perfect!!

I have no doubt you will look stunning. Love the dress. However, I had a hard time seeing the diffence in shoes, maybe a closeup is in order?

Couldn't tell the difference in the shoes either but will take you word on the sparkle. I remember some of you other strappy shoes and red toe nails, or was that Sleepdog. :lmao:

Everything looks really nice together. Love the hair up!

"You liar!" But, those words were blurted through a misty-eyed acknowledgement that a dream she'd had as a little girl finally arrived. Across from her sat the man who wanted nothing more than to see that glow on her face, those eyes fixed on his. He, too, was thrilled and a little verklempt. I know because I am that man.

There. ;)

I never said it was going to be a stealth attack. Nope, it was going to be a full-frontal assault. :lmao:

I am one amazingly lucky man.
Right back atcha. :lovestruc (uh, except the part about being a man. Obviously. Right??)

I do have a picture. Our one and only official engagement picture. Which is THE epitome of how I felt about this once-in-a-lifetime experience. But. I think I'll save it for "The Sting."

It WAS NOT, Mr. SneakyPants!!! Geez!!!

As requested, here is a picture of said sparkly shoes:

IF that's too small, here's one of us after our lovely V&A's dinner 2 years ago.

Let's see if that helps!

Giggle, Giggle! popcorn::

And LOVE the dress, shoes, hair, makeup, everything! You are GORGEOUS!
