They showed special clips all week as a way of saying goodbye to Diane. They showed previous segments from past shows, relived memories, etc. They gave her a full week to say a special goodbye. Why didn't they do the same for Chris??????

Chris Cuomo is going to 20/20. He will also remain the legal reporter for ABC News so he will still be on GMA occasionally.
Ju Ju Chang has been with ABC for quite some time. Just thank heaven they didn't ask Bill Weir to come in every morning. Can only take small doses of his sarcasm on the weekends.
I just wish they would get rid of Marisol Castro. Her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Why didn't they give the spot to Sam Champion? He's very upbeat, although quite on the plastic side, with not too much depth.

The did a long segment this morning with many, many clips of Chris. At the end of the clips, Chris announced he was taking the job at 20/20 with Elizabeth Vargas. He will also do legal reporting for ABC News.

I saw his announcment at the end of his news segment. I did not see the many, many clips. How did I miss that? I saw him announce that he was leaving after his news slot around 7:14 or so. I did not see the end of the show because I was working out. I normally only see the first 20 minutes of the show. I watch it to get the headlines and then I go workout when they take that first break to go to local news. Did they do the Chris clips at the end of the show today?

Yes, I realize that he will still be seen on ABC, but so will Diane. That is what did not make sense to me. She will be seen at night on ABC like Chris will. I guess since he will still be on GMA occasionally they did not feel the need to give him a big send-off like they have done for Diane.
Bill Weir is a bit too much for me too. Diane, Robin, Chris, and Sam are great together! I wil hate this change!

OK. I just watched the entire first segment of the show this morning, up until they broke at 7:20 to go to local news. There was not one mention about it being Chris's last day. There were many goodbyes to Diane, but not to Chris. Why couldn't they do the send off episode for both of them? I just do not get it!

I know. I'm sitting here watching it and felling so bad for Chris. Then I was wondering if maybe today isn't his last day? Did he maybe just announce he was leaving yesterday and we mistook it for today as well?
If it is his last day than shame on them!

Again, everyone, I believe that the rumors are true...

1. They didn't have time to plan anything much for Chris Cuomo, because this just NOW happened. Supposedly, Chris was typing up his resignation... He wanted out of GMA.

2. Under the circumstances, I believe it is safe to say that he might not be leaving under the best of terms.

While Chris has come a long way, and probably learned a lot about life and love during his time at GMA (and, becoming a parent, etc...) I never did like him. Not in this role. I wish the best for him, but I will not miss him on GMA.

Maybe he wanted out of GMA, was writing the letter of resignation, because they chose George over him to fill Diane's spot. I think Chris is much more personable than George. I was very disappointed this morning. Chris was just brushed over.
I really like Chris. I will miss him just as much as I will miss Diane. I will miss the old GMA team. I can't imagine adjusting to George now. I will probably have to find another morning news show.

I am just sick about all of this but I have to wonder how fast this really came about. George S has been doing cut ins for months and then they drop him in anchor. Seems to me they were slowly introducing him.
I absolutely will not watch any longer. I love Chris C and cannot believe he lost top anchor over George (yuck!). George S is stiff and I cannot get over his dealing w/ a specific party. That seems far less than impartial. With Chris C I have no clue of his political ties (i guess except for his brother, which obviously is not him).
One of the things I liked best about GMA was the comfortableness with the all the anchors etc. They genuinely seemed to like each other.
I will be listening more to the radio and I do not prefer the Today show either.
I am really going to miss the whole GMA group.
