Choosing DTD Hotel

We're going in early June and can't decide on a first night hotel. There are 9 of us traveling together so we do 1 room of 4 and 1 room of 5. We order our tickets without realizing we were getting an extra day free (5 days for price of 4). We are mainly concerned with transportation since we usually use disney busses. Any opinions on DTD hotels and their transportation to/from parks?

Thanks!

We have stayed at the Best Western. We used the bus service and found it to be convenient and efficient.

I think the Hilton DtD may be the only one without shared bus service. So, no other hotels at which to pick up; we found that convenient. Haven't stayed at any others there though, so...

Good luck and have fun!

The Hilton DTD does have shared bus service and picks up at all of the DTD hotels. However the Hilton is the first pick up (best seating) and first drop off.

Well, that's new! As of a year ago they didn't.

So you are saying the bus service goes to the Hilton and then all the other DtD Hotels? (That's how I'm reading your statement above.) If so, that's a HUGE waste of someone's time...and a complete change of the service level at the Hilton.

Hilton is the only DTD hotel which participates with EMH. Buses for EMH arent shared. AFAIT bus service is shared other times

We stay at the Wyndham. Love the convenience of walking across the street (literally) to visit DTD. The resort busses run on schedule and we've never <knock on wood> had any issues with seat availability. We've also jumped on a Disney bus from DTD to the Contemp and walked the path to MK for a quick afternoon/evening visit.

The prices are always decent and we've found the staff to be friendly and accomodating.

Yeah, that's what I thought before I stayed there. We were shocked that they went from our stop to AK. Same for MK and the other two majors. Nobody on the bus when it pulled up, so it wasn't as if we were the last stop. Maybe they do that based upon occupancy? Or perhaps they no longer do it. It's been a year. But previous trips there, it was so as well.

Anyway, for the OP, if this interests you, I would call the hotel and ask.
