My husband and I are planning to take our 1st cruise. I have narrowed the options down to DCL, RCL, and NCL. We want to have a balcony. We will be going in November of 2015. Which will be a good line for us? It is my husband's 40th bday as well. Any advice on anything cruising will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks amber

What kind of people are you, what do you like to do? Active rock-wall-climbing types, or laze around types? What places do you want to see? You might just choose a cruiseline based on itineraries! Many people follow the itinerary; the ship is secondary.

I'm partial to both Royal and Disney, but then...that's all I know. :)

I second that. I always look for itinerary. If there are two lines that do the same on, then I first look at the amount of time in port. If they are the same then lastly I look a the ship.

I'm new to cruising though (only been on 5) once I have been on many many more then I might start looking at ship as the first factor. Too much of the world to see yet for that now :)

Do you have a specific itenerary you want to do?

What things are you looking to do.on the ship?

I have sailed 4 different cruise lines and never had a bad cruise.

If I am travelling with just dh, I look at itinerary first (and that will likely never be dcl-too many sea days and not enough places I want to see), if I am travelling with the kids, then the ship is the first thing I look at (dcl is my first choice with the kids, but not necessarily my only choice)
