Choice Hotels stay 2 get 1 free

Does anyone here use the choice hotel rewards program? Can you tell me if it is difficult get get the rooms with your points? I signed up for the rewards because we are driving to WDW this coming weekend, and driving home the following weekend. We have a night booked for Fri and one for Sat. As I understand it the points should be in my account on Wed, and I should beable to call and reserve a room for sat night (have fri night booked at a good rate). Has anyone had any difficulty getting a room? We'll be staying in the St Louis area, we are flexible as far as where in St Louis area.

In my experience the "free night" was the lowest amount of points that equal a free room at the lowest season/ cheapest hotel which I think is about 8000 points. There will not be many hotels to choose from if you only have 8000 points and the points do not always post in a timely manner.

My DH has been traveling for work the last 2 months. When he checks out on a Friday, his points usually post on Mon or Tues. The stay 2 nights get one free deal will give you 8000 points. Personally, I wouldn't count on them being available. Figure if they are there, use them and if not, save them for another time (I think up to a year). We have over 60000 points accumulated from him staying at a Comfort Inn in PA and will be using some on the way to and from Disney in Aug.
