Chocolate!

Sorry if this is a dumb question
I need to take sweets, chocolate etc. out to Orlando with me for gifts
I will declare it on the customs form, but does it matter if it's in my hand baggage or checked baggage?
I was going to pack it all in my suitcase but suddenly thought I may need to carry it through myself

You can put it in hand or checked luggage.

As long as you declare it, it's not a problem (no Kinder eggs, allowed though). We have only been sent through a second screening once and though it was in our hold luggage they scanned all our bags again. Took a few minutes and really nothing to it.

I am going to put it all in my checked baggage then, otherwise I might eat it all on the plane
