*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

So, Jennifer, how did the shopping expedition go? Did you buy lots of neat stuff for your trip??? ;)

I think your plans for a movie night with T sound fabulous!

First, I'm glad the drugs are assisting in your recovery.:hippie:

Second, ADR changing? No problem....;)

Third, if you want us to help you spend your money......:thumbsup2 If you're not sure about the fireworks cruises, wait (I know..hard to do) a week and re-visit it. See how you feel. If you're still interested in doing it, then book....
Illuminations to be may better in my opinion because you get a bit closer to the action.

I agree with Jordan. I was listening to a podcast and the driver of the breathless (Illuminations cruise) was on it. It sounded soo interesting! It IS a lot of money, but something to consider...

Hi!

Just joined your PTR today...

1. I live on the North Shore of Nassau County near the beach and it is very nice.;)

2. Your nephew is just too cute - does he have a personality to match that smile???

3. We are going in October and for the 6 and 8 year old it is their first trip. We were considering the deluxe dining but did not want to devote that much time to eating so right now our ressies are for the regular dining plan. What do you suggest?

4. Glad you are feeling better.

5. I am totally enjoying your Report:rainbow:

YAY LONG ISLAND!!!!
1. I live on the south shore of Suffolk County (Am originally from Riverhead)

3. Me too! (well not my first trip, but October) 'when you goin'?

Hi! Finally caught up! Sorry to hear about the complications with your surgery, but I'm glad you are finally feeling good enough to go shopping. :thumbsup2

Your plans sound fantastic! :goodvibes
Any of those cruises sound great to me because I've never been on one, but I would say Illuminations would be better for you than Wishes because of the view from your rooms. :confused3

Thanks! I'm glad that surgery is behind me.
I'll probably change my plans 100 times, but at least I have a good start.
I agree with you about Illiuminations. I can see Wishes every night in my pjs!

Wow your clicking right along with the PTR now! Having a blast reading it.
Your nephew's smile in the Jasmine picture is just priceless!!:lmao:  What a cutie!!
I know what you mean about Michael's. I could buy so much stuff in there and not have any idea what to do with it all.:confused3 Very dangerous store!

I am really enjoying writing this ptr. And I love everyone's feedback. I'm a teacher, we LIVE for feedback :lmao:
Thanks! I think my nephew's first crush was Jasmine last summer :rotfl:
My mom and I ended up skipping Michael's today because I was just too wiped out. But tomorrow is another day. I have to get chocolate and molds for the baby shower. I'm also attempting to get into scrapbooking and would love to make one for my parent's 35th wedding anniversary this summer. I'd like to get into digital scrapbooking, but I have no patience for that. Are you into scrapbooking?

Have fun shopping. There is a great Italian restaurant across the street from that mall. Also a Ruth Cris steakhouse. MMMMM

Too bad our times are off, would have been nice to split the cost of the Wishes cruise.

I had a lot of fun shopping, but Walmart just frustrates me. It was crowded and I nearly got run over by a couple of shopping carts and I'm 5'7''!

I think I know the Italian restaurant you're talking about. I've never been to Ruth Cris, but I've heard good things. I've got reservations for Peter Luger in a couple of weeks. That is one of my favorite restaurtants! YUM!

I know! I wish I could go in September when there are less crowds. But I doubt my principal would appreciate me missing the beginning of the school year :rotfl2:

Just read your PTR, and I have to comment on some things!

I wish I had a mom who would unpack my stuff when I overpack! I am a terrible overpacker!

Your theme park views sound amazing!

Your surgery sounds like it was rough. Well, the recovery part of it. I hope you're feeling tons better.

Your nephew is SO cute! I've never seen such a big smile as his when he met Jasmine!

:welcome:
My mom controls my packing because she thinks I'm insane:lmao: I always think I need more than I do.

I'm hoping the theme park views are as amazing as they sound on the website!

The surgery was rough, but I'm so happy it's behind me and I get to return to teaching my 5 year olds on Monday! I am feeling so much better thanks!

Thanks! We think T is a cutie too. I gotta keep him away from Jasmine this summer :rotfl2:

OH MY GOD! I can't take him....too freekin' cute! Boy does he like them princesses....

How funny is it that I have NEVER been to Roosevelt Field?! My friends think it is amazing too....

Thanks!! He does like the princess :lmao:

You've never been to Roosevelt Field? You HAVE to take a trip there. Once you go, you'll never stop going back!

So, Jennifer, how did the shopping expedition go? Did you buy lots of neat stuff for your trip??? ;)

I actually didn't spend any money! It's a miracle :lmao:
But I ended up skipping Michael's and will head there tomorrow.

I can't wait for movie night next weekend!

Wow! You did better than I did! I went to Walmart to get laundry detergent this afternoon and ended up spending a hundred dollars -- that store just leeches my money away!

I knew you'd like writing a PTR!:thumbsup2
I love the idea of scrapbooking. I'm the other way around. I've tried doing the physical scrapbooking and just don't have the patience for it. The digital stuff I'm much faster at and can make it look decent without thinking too much about it first. I need to get back to one of them, my pics are piling up on me!

Pain meds are so great!

I need to make some ADR changes tomorrow!

Actually I want all of you to help me spend my parent's money :lmao: This trip is my parent's treat. I guess they're feeling generous.

I'm thinking llluminations now too. Pontoon boat or Breathless???

I agree with Jordan. I was listening to a podcast and the driver of the breathless (Illuminations cruise) was on it. It sounded soo interesting! It IS a lot of money, but something to consider...

I have to consider the Breathless. Something new to think about.

1. The north shore is soo nice. Must be nice to be near the water :)

2. Thanks! He's very friendly and outgoing. He's such a ham!

3. I loved the deluxe dining plan, but it does take a lot of time. I would stick with the regular one and do some character meals :thumbsup2

4. Thanks!!!

5. Awww thanks!!!!:flower3:

I will speak to him. don't worry.

:yoda: I have been taught well.

That's how I feel about Target!

What program do you use for digital scrapbooking?

See with regular scrapbooking, I can go to Michael's and buy stickers, different papers, etc. It's like a shopping high.

You need to teach me :lmao:

Me too! Between Walmart and Target I am surprised I have any money left for Disney vacations!

I'm at Target every weekend. I don't know how, but I always manage to find something to buy.

I do regular scrapbooking and half the fun is collecting papers and stickers -- especially all the Disney ones! :)

That's what I'm thinking! I've seen so many cute Disney stickers and papers. I was at the World of Disney store in Manhattan last week and they have a scrapbooking section!!! So tempting!

What part of Georgia are you from? I may be attending a convention in Atlanta in May and I've never been.

Hi Jen,

I am so glad that you are better! Did you mention Target???? That is my store. I went in there on Friday for one thing and I spent over $200!!!!! I even bought a cute beach bag for our DLR trip. We are going to Newport Beach and I was buying stuff! WHAT???? My DH just looked at me like I had two heads!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So you are going to be here in Atlanta in May??? I live 5 mins from the airport and 15 mins from downtown. Send me a PM.

Glad you are better!:goodvibes

:lmao: It's so hard to go into Target and not get anything. I think they must pump something into the store that gets everyone to just pull out their wallets.

I may be in Atlanta in May for the International Reading Association Convention. Not 100% sure yet.

Thanks!! I know I'm feeling much better when I'm ready to spend money :rotfl2:

I'll PM you.

When I'm at Disney, I eat more snack food then I would ever consider eating at home. And with the deluxe dining plan I HAVE to get two snacks a day :lmao: In January, we had so many left over snack credits that we ended up using it for candy and stuff to bring home. I'm determined not to have left over snack credits this summer.

I need some ideas. What are some of your favorite snacks at Disney? What should I try? What do you have to have when you're there? I've heard a lot about Dole Whips, but I've never had one :confused3

Here's T with his favorite Disney snack:

Well, you know I am the queen of food porn. :)

I love to eat at WDW. I love the funnel cakes, dole whips, ice cream sandwiches, cookies from Main St bakery, popcorn, and the list goes on. I cannot wait until my trip with Glendamax in June and my family trip to DLR so I can EATTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:wave2: We did the Wishes Cruise and it was worth every penny! I would highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Your ADR's look terrific! In fact your entire trip looks pretty amazing! pixiedust:

:faint: You have never had a Dole Whip? :lmao: Actually the Dole Floats are better.

I love funnel cake too. Yum! And for some reason popcorn tastes better in Disney. What do they put on it? I've never bought cookies from the Main Street Bakery. That's a must for August.

I think the food is better at WDW than DL, but I haven't been to DL since 2004. If you like Mint Juleps, you can get it in DL. I've yet to be able to order Mint Juleps at WDW.

You have to do another food report when you get back.

Maybe I should just book both the Wishes and Illuminations cruises. Shhhh don't tell my parents. They're paying :lmao:

Thanks!!! I need to make some ADR changes and attempt to make an itinerary. That should cause me hours of stress.

I have never had a Dole Whip or Dole Float. How did I miss them? :confused3 Where can I find them? MK? I wonder if they sell them at teh Poly.
