Chivalry is not dead!

I think that is wonderful of your DH. When ever I see an Elderly Man or Women I always offer my seat to them.

I'm a 20 year old girl and always thought it was absurd when you would see elderly/pregnant women/people carrying babies/etc.....standing while others are sitting. I'm all about giving up the seat when appropriate! people always seems so pleasantly surprised when it happens.

while reading these posts it struck me that i would not expect any to stand on my account, but when a mother and father are seated with 3 children sprawled accross the seats at least double up so i could sit with my granddaught. this is a question i will not hesitate to ask this trip,

I think it's great that your husband does this! I am a healthy woman and I frequently give up my seat to elderly, women, or men with young children since my children are a little older now. On our last two trips I got quite irritated at the number of parents with young children who had to stand on the bus. After all, I can only give up one seat! On our summer trip my husband and I both injured our selves, (his foot, my knee) and at that time I couldn't give up my seat and felt very guilty! So try not to judge everyone who may not give up their seat. However, I do think that on a full bus there are always healthy people who can give up their seats and don't. Some may argue that it's their vacation too, but I have a hard time sitting while watching an elderly person or someone standing with a baby.
