Oh I'm so happy - we've finally had our trip to the Palladium to see my favourite film put on the stage.

SUPERB doesn't do it justice. I've seen some of the great productions on the stage in my time but this really was so enjoyable. The sets were amazing - and the flying car:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

We were very priviledged to be there for the opening night of Jason Donovan's five week stint. And very good he was, although he didn't quite have Dick Van ****'s moves doing The Old Bamboo routine;)

Russ Abbot as grandpa was magic - and as for Wayne Sleep as the Childcatcher, he was hysterical (sorry, couldn't take anyone seriously in black velvet very tight tights, if you get what I mean:crazy: ). When I first saw the film the childcatcher really did terrify me, but seeing Wayne now I think after all these years I'm cured:tongue:

The only downside of the evening was someone chucking a rock through the window next to us on the tube:mad: Poor DH is not used to such things living down here (I spent 24 years growing up in West London so nothing surprises me, saddens me mind).

A blooming good evening was had by us all.

So pleased you had such a fabulous evening Flower - laughed out loud at the fact that Dick's surname has been asterisked out!!

Not so nice about the rock on the tube tho.

Sounds great, we've got tickets to see this next month and I really wasn't keen. I got the tickets more for my DS but I can't wait now. We're going on 16 Feb, I wonder if Jason Donovan will still be in it then.

Sounds great ~ I would love to see it but a bit of a trek from sunny Scotland.

We go to Theatre often Leeds, Bradford, London and New York. We saw this production last year in London and is one of the best shows we have ever seen, would recommend anyone to see it.
The car is in the Guiness book of world records for the most expensive stage prop ever produced(approx $1million) with the complete set costing an estimated $8.9million to stage.
Worth a trip from Scotland make a long weekend of it.

I'm going to see CCBB tomorrow and I was excited before I saw this post - now I really can't wait, especially to see Jason Donovan!

Rach.
