Oh I'm so happy - we've finally had our trip to the Palladium to see my favourite film put on the stage.
SUPERB doesn't do it justice. I've seen some of the great productions on the stage in my time but this really was so enjoyable. The sets were amazing - and the flying car
We were very priviledged to be there for the opening night of Jason Donovan's five week stint. And very good he was, although he didn't quite have Dick Van ****'s moves doing The Old Bamboo routine
Russ Abbot as grandpa was magic - and as for Wayne Sleep as the Childcatcher, he was hysterical (sorry, couldn't take anyone seriously in black velvet very tight tights, if you get what I mean
). When I first saw the film the childcatcher really did terrify me, but seeing Wayne now I think after all these years I'm cured
The only downside of the evening was someone chucking a rock through the window next to us on the tube
Poor DH is not used to such things living down here (I spent 24 years growing up in West London so nothing surprises me, saddens me mind).
A blooming good evening was had by us all.
