Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

I got it for 7:05, which is towards the beginning of the party, but will take a good chunk of time out. I am going to keep looking for a different time/day, but for now that is all I got. My girls really want to eat there, so I am debating if its worth missing out on party time. Plus I doubt it we will make it until midnight because my youngest would become difficult. We are planning on being at MK that day, so during the party I want to focus on "party" things and not really rides and things that can be done some other day. We will be at MK that morning, go back for a nice long nap in late afternoon, and return for the party, and stay as long as the little one is in a good mood.

I would plan to be in CRT until about 8:00. Its up to you how you want to spend party time - we'll be in the park most of the day on our MVMCP day as well, but daughter is bent on seeing the Seven Dwarfs so I know after our Plaza ADR I'll probably be on line waiting it out.

Personally speaking, while being in the castle, CRT is over rated and if you can search for Akershus that's a great princess meal!

I'm becoming a little frustrated with Scout. I received my 4th notification in the last 24 hours this morning. Each one I have been right next to my phone and immediately proceeded to the booking page and the ADR was gone! Has anyone else had this happen frequently? Is there a time gap between them finding the ADR and the notification? I mean this is less than 2 minutes after I received the notification that it is unavailable!

I've not used any of the paid services but from what I've been reading they are becoming more and more popular (did I read right that they didn't even exist prior to 2015?). I've also seen that travel agents can buy for searches in bulk. If you have that many people getting the same alert as you I can see how it'd be a fight as to who gets it first! It's got to be frustrating as heck though!

I just cant believe the first week of November has the same 12 restaurants available for breakfast each day

It's crazy! I'm on another thread discussing why this year is so different than even previous years with FD and I think it comes down to: 1.) increased availability of paid search engines, 2.) a decrease in the length of FD, meaning more families are packing their vacations into a shorter time frame to get FD and therefore more families competing for ADRs in that shorter FD period, 3.) increased hoarding as people aren't sure what they are going to get for FPs (I've read many people say "I'm not usually a hoarder but this year..." or "I know someone who has a reservation every 2 hours until they know which park they'll be able to coordinate their FPs" or "I'm making ADRs through my account and a family member's and we'll cancel the day before once we know our plans that day or we decide what we are in the mood to eat"), 4.) More emails through MDE reminding people to go book their ADRs so that it's not just us crazies trying to plan months out anymore but "regular" folks who get reminders to start booking early, and 5.) overall increased attendance. The worst part to me is everyone fights and hoards ADRs and it only makes the ADR problem worse. But, I understand people pay a lot of money and want their vacations to be perfect so they'll reserve everything until they know at least what their FPs will be.

In the past 2 weeks, I've tried to coordinate 2 people dropping a very popular ADR and was given the exact second they dropped it, and both times it never showed up as available. Either people are searching THAT much or they're not re-releasing some canceled ADRs for whatever reason.

That could be the case. I've read Disney says they don't hold back ADRs but who knows?

Anyone else getting a little bored with planning now? Now that BOG breakfast, Minnie's dinner, etc. is over, and most of my ADRs are set, I can't really do much with touring plans until I reserve FP+ and now it feels like I have nothing to do! I've got Scout checking for better times on a couple things, but I haven't actually been on the Disney dining website in a while...crazy!

The only thing I've been thinking about lately is Christmas decorations for the room. I won't be paying the crazy Disney florist prices for a tree, but I also kind of want it to be a surprise for my mom and her friend (they will be grocery shopping while I stay with my daughter in the room, so I'm going to try to decorate then). But then I have to bring everything in my bag, or mail it to the resort...decisions, decisions...

My ADRs are set and I need to get to spending more time on my FP strategy! But I have like 4 ADRs I am trying to tweak by no more than an hour for each of them. Part of me thinks I just don't want to admit I'm set and then have to ween myself off the addiction that is ADR-hunting!

I'm the same. My ADRs are all booked and finalized so I'm kind of just sitting here in limbo waiting for my FP window to open. I guess we should be happy we can relax for a bit!!

I still need to decide my FPs...I think I have a pretty good idea but I need to put as much energy into FP planning as I did into my meal planning

I wish my dining was finalized. I still have 7 that I want to get better times if possible and of course I've missed 4 texts from Scout in the last week in a half because of my phone being on vibrate.

I still need another TS meal in MK or a MK resort for one night. It's practically impossible. And frustrating. But I keep hoping that as we get closer to time some things will open up. And honestly? If I was paying OOP for food, I wouldn't worry about it and would just go QS. But I don't want to "waste" a TS meal - especially since I can't switch it out for a QS meal credit.

I'm hoping the new Jungle Cruise themed restaurant in Adventureland opens up before our trip! I don't need another ADR, but I'd make room if it is open and I can get an ADR! Reports say it won't open until late 2015. I take "late" to mean December, but we shall see!

LTT should also open up right before Thanksgiving so depending on your trip maybe that will help?! With MK resorts and MK restaurants in your search, hopefully you'll find something soon!

I feel ya. The availability for ADR's was so bad when I first booked that I didn't get the DP...now I'm glad that I didn't, if only for less "pressure" to book TS places.

Somehow my November trip was here but I was there with not the right people and I was totally unprepared. It is my husband, daughter and myself that are going but I was there with my mom, her friend she used to work with, and her friend's daughter. I had forgotten to make FP selections, I hadn't continued checking for better times for my ADRs and I hadn't finished two of my daughter's outfits for the trips (not sure why this mattered because my daughter wasn't there.) It was awful, we hadn't gotten up early and missed rope drop and got in MK late all the rides had terribly long lines. I guess this means that it is getting close and my subconscious is worried I will forget to make FP. Anyone else have any Disney dreams/nightmares lately so I don't feel alone?

Don't worry - you're not alone! My DH thinks I'm crazy. When BOG breakfast was about to be released for November I woke up in the middle of the night after a dream that it had been released and I'd missed it. Of course, that nightmare ended up coming true, but that's another story... I'm sure you won't forget to make your FPs!!!

I had no idea when I took on the responsibility of planning this Disney trip that it was so stressful!! It's literally a competition getting ADRs and FP+

I do think with all the scout sights things are picked up so quickly. Someone was trying to give me a bog, I saw it tried to grab it, the system glithed an I lost it that quickly.

Wish I could say I had all of my adr's (still looking for 4). As much as I enjoy being a bit Disney obsessed and checking these boards 3 times a day I do worry that I will never get them. Eating is a big part of our Disney expience. We are looking to grab 4 character meals and I would be pretty upset to spend this much on a vacation and not get what we want. We only go every few years so just want want it to be perfect.

I had lots of them right around my ADR window. I'm sure they'll start up again as FP gets closer! I find the last month before my trips is when the dreams (good and bad) start in full force for me!! None of us needs to worry though because we're all going to have magical vacations, right????

Question from a first timer... when selecting our Fastpasses when my window opens, will it automatically space available times to match my ADR's? Or is that something the system doesn't do.

MDE will not space your fastpass for you around your ADRs. Make sure that you have a list of your dining reservations in front of you when booking your fastpass. A billion $$$$'s goes only so far.

This is my first time planning ADRs and Fastpass+ and it is so nerve wracking! We went almost every year as a kid, and I've been twice with DH, but our last time was after we were married 7 years ago! We never planned everything. I don't think you could even plan anything back then except for character meals? Imagine my surprise when I call to book Crystal Palace for my son's bday at 180 days out (thinking I'm sooo on top of things) and the earliest they had was lunch! LOL I remember standing at Cinderella's castle begging my mom to let us dine there and just walking in and eating! Maybe we had to wait a bit but no resos, and in the middle of summer. My nerves can't take this kind of Disney planning!

Scout keeps notifying me for breakfast openings for GG, 11/18 for at least 3 people. Times have been between 8:30am-9:40am. There are several times so if you are looking for that, check now.

It was a tough one for me, too but I did eventually manage to get a dinner on the day I wanted so hang in there!! I had multiple scout searches on it because it was the only ADR left that I needed. Good luck!!
