Chip & Dale Sing Along

Hi everyone,
I am curious about the Chip & Dale sing along at the Wilderness Campground.
Has anyone been? What was your experience? We are not staying at the Campground, but we are trying to decide if it is worth a trek over.

The campfire in FW is where Chip and Dale show up. There is a nightly Disney movie and sing along . Chip and Dale walk around and sign autographs. Everyone can roast marshmallows you just need to bring your own supplies. My children enjoyed it when they were younger.

We saw "It's A Bug's Life" the night we went, and had the best time!

The feeling is reminiscent of a Drive-In, since the screen is large, and seating is plenty. Smores kits are available for under $5, and include enough chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers and roasting sticks for a family of four. They also sold drinks, hot dogs and popcorn. The fire ring is very closely supervised by CM's, and we felt very safe letting our young ones wander over to look and roast marshmallows.

No kids sat still for the whole movie, but that's the point! Mingling with other guests, enjoying the movie and fire, walking by the lake - it makes for a cheap, low-tech, low-key evening out!

Some of our best memories are of the sing a long. If you have children it is a nice relaxing evening, not hurried like when you are trying to do the parks. You can also view the Electrical Water Parade from FW beach and also see the fireworks over the castle at MK from the FW beach/marina, depending on the times of sing a long, movie, parade and fireworks.

Might be too cold for many Floridians in Dec. but you will just see us bundled up in the Afghans and drinking plenty of Hot Chocolate.

Young kids/old kids just love it, it's the ones in the teens that might sometimes feel it is too babyish or old fashioned.

Yes, bringing a blanket would be perfect. We saw lots of families doing that when we were there.

It's a fun evening for all ages. We saw young kids and teens there with their families.

We are planning to go in November. I can't wait. I am sure my DS3 will love it. I heard there is so much to do at FWCG--petting zoo, pony rides, carriage rides and you can even see Wishes from the lake. Does anyone know here to find a movie schedule???

Some info I found out for our trip in October - we plan on doing this after dinner at trails end buffet...
I called WDW and the campfire/movie with Chip N Dale is booked/scheduled 5 days out (as to time and what movie is played) and to call 407-824-2727 as they would have that information. I contacted that # and was told that currently (August) it starts at 8:00 but during later months it does bump up to 7:00pm as it gets dark earlier. They suggested I call right before we head down or once we check in to contact them again as they will have the up to date hours and what movies they will be playing. The singalong is approximately 40 minutes long with the movie following.

Go to Fort Wilderness for the campfire/sing-along, nightly at 7pm behind the Meadow Trading Post. Movie begins approximately 7:40pm. A Disney classic movie follows the sing-along. Chip and Dale usually make an appearance. The Fort Wilderness staff will provide a campfire; bring your marshmallows, hot dogs and sticks if you have them. If not, marshmallows and sticks are available for purchase at $2 for 2 sticks and plenty of marshmallows; $5 for a s'more kit. The movie shown is different each night of the week. In the event of inclement weather, a "Porch Jam" sing-a-long will take place at the Ol' Meadow Swimmin' Hole. Movie & Sing-a-Long free of charge. Note: All movies & characters are outside! Campfire Show is held nightly if weather permits.
