Just saw that these 2 foods were the # 2 , and # 3 ethic styles of food most loved / eaten in the USA following Italian, which was #1 by a large margin.

Which on do you prefer?

Mexican food all the way. You can't drink a margarita with Chinese food.

It just depends on my mood. Chinese if I want to stay in and Mexican if I want to go out.

As long as it is authentic Mexican. Here in Seattle it is hard to find good Mexican cooking. The salsa is little more than crushed tomatoes with a pinch of seasoning.

I voted Mexican. Chinese is ubiquitous, if entirely un-authentic, in this area, but Mexican (and I don't mean national chains such as Don Pablo's) is by far more interesting in these parts (southwest Ohio).

We moved to WA when DH was in the Navy, there was one mexican food restaurant in our town, and it had the definitions of what a taco, burrito, etc. was on the menu.:rotfl: Otherwise, it was great up there.

I love it here, I grew up in Southern Cal and like having blue skys and green grass. But when I go into a Mexican Restaurant (the biggest local chain), and order a Relleno and I get a half a bell pepper with meat & rice mix covered in an omlet, I know I am in trouble.

We eat mexican more than Italian. chinese is something that I want occasionally.

I eat it almost everyday. My mom and grandma make the best mexican food. My mom makes fresh yummy tortillas for everyone in the family to eat throughout the week.

I cook Mexican food at home a lot. We have tacos at least once a week, or so it seems.

When we go out to eat, everytime I say "lets go to mexican food" we end up at Chinese. EVERYTIME. My husband prefers Chinese, but I think it might be because I can cook decent Mexican at home, but not Chinese.

Chinese for me, never been a big fan of mexican food.

I like them both.

If you wanted to eat a jalapeno-egg roll what would you call it? Mexicanese or Chinacan?

Chinese!

I honestly cant even smell mexican food without gagging!:confused3

I like both alot, but eat Mecican more often. Yum!

I have be biased for my own race!! Mexican it is...but 90% is either my cooking or mi familia! Italian comes in a very close second...

Actually I prefer Japanese over Chinese. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Japanese food...

growing up in the 60's in small town Indiana, we had never heard of mexican food and chinese food was La Choy.

I remember my first mexican food was when a regional chain called Taco Tico opened when I was in high school and I was hooked! Now we have many small family owned mexican restaurants all over town. I am not sure how authentic they are, but the food is wonderful and the staff is all mexican so I assume its pretty close.

Like I said, chinese food to us was La Choy until a trip to Chicago when I was in high school and we went to chinese restaurant. I always thought I hated chinese food because I hated our La Choy dinners. I couldn't believe how wonderful the food was at the restaurant. We now have several little local chinese restaurants, while I am not sure how authentic these are, the food is great!

My in-laws will not eat anything new or different. When we first got married I fixed Lasagna one night and you would have thought I tried to poison them. They still talk about the weird food we had at your house that night. It was LASAGNA! They wanted to try a mexican resturant, so we took them one day for lunch. DH and I usually get the chicken fajitas and when an order came by, I said thats what we usually get. They said no way and each had a taco salad and never wanted to eat mexican again! I am so proud of DH, he has really become an adventure eater!

Depends on what you consider Mexican food.
