Does anyone know if they schedule anything special @ China in EPCOT? My DD's preschool teacher wasn't happy she will be away for 2 weeks & gave her an assignment (on top of ALL the other work) to learn about the annual celebration.

Wow, homework in preschool!? Poor kid. Unfortunately, the Chinese New Year (which was on Feb 1 this year) is not heralded by any major celebration at WDW. I'm sure that the CMs at the China pavillion would be happy to talk about it if you ask them, though.

preschool homework, that sounds harsh! maybe she could draw pictures of the 12 animals that form part of the zodiac. this year is the year of the sheep/goat. what sort of assignment can you possibly give to a preschooler??

You'd be surprised at the amount of homework she has! We had a great trip & did speak to a few CMs in China, but I wasn't too concerned! Thanks!

We were there for Chinese New Year in 2001 but I honestly don't remember what they did to celebrate. I do seem to remember there was a notation of some event in the China pavilion on the Epcot park map but I can't tell you exactly what it was.

Sorry!
