chinese food near Windsor Hills

Hi all.

We are leaving in two days for WDW. I think I asked this before(a long time ago) and the place I was interested in was Mr. Kong in Clermont. I've read some bad reviews and I'm sure there is some place closer.

I guess my question is......tell me the places I should AVOID. Unless I'm in NYcity or chinatown/D.C. or someplace like that, our standards are just the typical regular chinese food. I don't think Orlando is the place for the best Chinese so I'm not expecting that. Just some place that makes decent General Tso's chicken and some Lo Mein, kwim?

I've read just head west on 192 and there will be some in plazas on the right? I just don't want a horror story. We just have to have our chinese food fix.

We have been going to Mr. Kongs. It is on the East side of 192 same side as WH. It is locatred in a small strip mall west of WH. Across from Pumlix but not the one in Orange Lakes, it is further down.

Ok. So the food is decent there? Lately, the reviews for this place have been pretty bad.

One question on the Publix.........on their site it lists orange lake town center as the closest to WH....is there one closer?

The Orange Lake Publix is the closest. The one Isla Bonita is talking about is farther west on 192.

On that note, AVOID the take-out place in the Orange Lake Publix strip mall. Yuck.

It doesn't sound like Mr. Kong---wrong side of 192. I don't remember the name.

Most of our non-Disney meals are in our kitchen, and the rest of the family isn't big on Chinese, so I don't yet have a positive recommendation.

We liked the Chinese take-out that's down by Reunion. You turn right out of WH onto Old Lake Wilson Rd. It's about 4 miles south to the lights. Across that intersection there's a new Publix and other shops. There's a CHINA TASTE take out there and we though it was good. You get big orders. We went there while staying in Reunion Resort in Mar.
