Up at 8am, well the alarm goes off at that time anyway. Breakfast buffet at the hotel, as normal I can hardly eat a thing, then its over to the airport to meet our friends in Weatherspoons for a drink. We board really early and take off on time. We've got one of the sets of 2 seats at the back which we prefer. Most of the wedding guests are on this flight as well so we spot more people we know about the plane. I watch Harry Potter. Lunch options were Cumberland pie, chicken or vegetarian chilli. We both opt for the cumberland pie and it was the nicest plane food i'd had for a while although it said it came with green beans but they looked pretty pea shaped to me. Some of my friends come over to chat to me even though the film hasn't finished and we go to see the Grooms sister and her 3 kids to see how they are doing. After this I try to have a nap as because of the time difference it'll be a really long day but I don't get much sleep. The rest of the food that comes I don't like so that leaves me pretty hungry, I knew I should have got something to take on the plane. I try to watch Tangled but they turn it off before it ends.

The queue at Immigration is huge but it moves quite quickly and when we get through are luggage is already off so no delay there. Most of us are at the same hotel so we split some cabs and head to the strip. We get a very chatty cab driver who I think takes us the long way to our hotel and traffic is bad. We chat away with her and she tells us some rather inappropriate things which I won't repeat on a family board. When we get to the hotel she says we don't have to pay the full fare.

Another long queue at check in, I try for a free upgrade but its March Madness so the hotel is really busy. We get a room on the 22nd of 23 floors, our friends are on 15 (I later find out they however got much better views than us though). The room is big and nice although a bit dark and has props from "As Good As It Gets" displayed.

We unpack and freshen up before meeting our friends as agreed at 5:30pm which is 00:30am UK time. I'd wanted to get an Earl of Sandwich now as there was one in our hotel but instead it had been agreed that we were heading over the road to meet the Bride & Groom and their families at the Bellagio.

We then walk down the strip to Treasure Island as they want to see the Sirens show which is on later so we find a restaurant nearby to eat in called Gilly's. As there are 15 of us we have to wait for a table so head into the bar, I sit at a bar stool which is a saddle and they had a mechanical bull for people to go on. They said the wait would be an hour but I think it was only 30 minutes. Just as we are about to order our food a fight breaks out between 2 other women diners, free entertainment. DH and I both get the ribs. We are just finished in time to go outside to see the show which is quite silly and cheesy and they could make it a lot better. We head back to the hotel but in the surge of crowds we lose everyone else. We get to bed just before 10pm, 5am UK time.

Bet you were tired after such a long day! DH and I were in Vegas last May, we tried to see the Sirens show but it was cancelled both evenings we went as it was too windy.

Looking forward to hearing about the wedding.

::yes:: Yes it is Sarah, his name is Dale Chihuly. His work also includes the chandeliers in the lobby on the Magic & Wonder, he also has several glass creations at Atlantis resorts, in Nassau & Dubai. :thumbsup2
