Chill Out! You crazy over planner.

I am a massive overplanner. However, anyone that goes on a trip with me absolutely loves that I go into planning overload because they don't have to.
To be honest, most of my extended family loves it too. They get to just show up and they know there is a good time to be had.

Proud overplanner here. I’m not the minute by minute type or drill sergeant - but I certainly have a game plan. For me, it makes vacation more enjoyable not having to waste time saying “what do you want to do next?” It flows better. And, I make sure to include people watching/ relaxing in my plans.
Right. Me too. Tons of planning doesn’t mean go go go. In fact, if you plan right, you can relax more. Good point.

We are mega planners too but we are always flexible and plans can fly out the window at any time! For our December 2021 trip we are (naturally) planning but know that WDW (and likely the world!) will likely be a very different place and rules, regulations, and restrictions that are now in effect may be very different when fall comes around! So, we have a general plan for now and will watch carefully for changes so we can adjust or tweak as needed along the way.
Yes. I love to plan and we are going January 2022. So I’m sitting here planning everything out without knowing- park times, what fastpass will be like, what dining reservations will be like, Special events...
Heck, we don’t like being there for running events. We aren’t even positive we are going at the right time. I hope they have a plan before 180 days out for both you and me so we can start solidifying things. 🤞🏻

I never really enjoyed all the planning for a WDW trip. Making FP and ADR's so far in advance. But, if you didn't do at least some of it, you'd miss out on a ride or a restaurant. Years ago (too many) I can remember going to WDW without a single FP or ADR and was just fine. Those were some great trips.
They were. All this planning feeds my obsession... causes it... 🤷🏻‍♂️ I love it. But I do miss those days when you just showed up and walked around deciding what ride to go on. Oh man. Those were the days.

This crazy overplanner planned a trip only 6 weeks out and cannot find dining times at any places we wanted worth a crap. A 9:30 Cali Grill bites. Some places weren't available AT ALL. So, Disney actually forces a game plan especially if you want to eat anything but burgers and nuggets. (Yes and exaggeration, but....) I want some TS meals and they are out of reach this close in. Planning is my jam BECAUSE it makes the trip more enjoyable to know what's next without just simply wandering around. Although, the wandering part is also built in.
