I went to one last night. It might have been the first time ever. The one near me is probably 20+ years at the same location. I was always under the impression that it was not an especially good place to eat, even for "family fare"... Don't ask me why, but that is the impression I had.

Anyway, I had the ribs with the rub on them, and I thought that they were pretty good.

But what surprised me was the HUGE lines to get in the place when we left! When we got there, there were no parking spaces. We drove around the lot 2x before getting a space, but once we were inside we only has a 5 minute wait ( we did call ahead seating ).... There were maybe 10 people already waiting.

When we left, however, there were probably 40 - 50 people waiting, and I noticed that people were parking in some other business' parking lot.

Are they all like that?

It was pretty good, and the whole family wants to go again.

Ours is ALWAYS like that on a Fri. or Sat. night around 6:00. Other times it is just normal-busy, but we never have to wait terribly long for a table. It's good for burgers and salads (and probably other stuff but that's all we ever get when there!)

We took the kids to Applebees last night and it was exactly like you described. We went early, still had to wait a bit, but by the time we left we had to fight to get out the door! My dinner, however, was a big disappointment and I've never felt like that at Chili's.

The Chilis by our house always have a line on the weekends. When we go we always go a little early. They have a large menu to choose from. Best chips and salsa around.

Our Chili's is always like that too. It's my older teenagers favorite place to eat. He and his friends go there a lot!

My family loves Chili's. We go alot since it's only 2 minutes from our house. :cool1: They always have a long line, but the wait is never long to be seated.

We go to the Chillies in Wilmington & it is always busy. The President Margareta is the best I have ever had. DH & I have been going for them for over 10 years. They have 1/2 price appetizer at Happy Hour. The Fajita are excellent too.

Our Chili's is busy on Friday & Saturday nights. Other nights no long lines. Gotta love the chicken crispers with honey mustard and southwestern eggrolls. Yum Yum!

We go fairly often. Yeah - it's busy on the weekends.

I always used to get their lettuce wraps - but they're no longer on their menu! I now get the Quesadilla explosion and don't eat the little cheese tortilla wedges that come with it. DH gets the Southwestern Cobb - but he always asks for it with the grilled chicken.

Their menu is extensive enough to satisfy most any appetite.

We feel that they're a step above Denny's & Applebee's (at least around here).

That's what my wife had and she said they were REALLY good.

Our local Chili's gets busy, too. We like Chili's. It's not fancy, but it's pretty good food and the atmosphere is nice & casual. We always get the bottomless chips & salsa for an appetizer.

I'm not a big fan of "chain" restaurants I prefer mom and pop places BUT Chili's does have some excellent fajitas:banana:

I hate Chili's. Can't stand the place. But around here I seem to be in the minority because ours is always packed. The only thing I like there is the fried onion blossom thingy...and a beer ;)

Meh. It is ok, nothing great, nothing horrible. Just an unmemorable place altogether here.

I love Chili's! The one in the town where I'm from closed :confused3 I don't get it cause it always had a wait like that around dinner time and later.

I worked at Chili's throughout college and I still eat there, so I think that says a lot :lmao: It was very clean, and I was impressed at how much of their food was prepared on site. I CRAVED their salsa when I was pregnant :confused3 I swear, I could not get enough of it. I love their guiltless grill chicken.

Chili's does have an awesome (strong!) margarita and their fajitas are fantastic. Burgers are good too... BUT I don't eat there anymore. I made the mistake of looking at the nutritional info... nothing on the menu less than 1000 calories! Yikes!:scared1:

We're a big Chili's family too. We go early to beat the crowds. I adore thier Queso and salsa...I really wish you could buy their salsa somewhere, it's the favorite in this house. I get the Buffalo Chicken salad...it's a whole head of lettuce with stuff on it. It's fantastic. My husband like their soups.

We had a Chili's but it was always dead. f we couldn't get into another restaurant (and we have everything here) we always knew we could get in there. They eventually closed and a TGIFridays moved in. That place is always packed. :confused3

We went to one not too long ago in RI and the fajitas were awesome. Now I want our Chili's back. :rotfl:
