We want to celebrate both boys birthday at Disney but the days we are at Disney are not the kids actual bdays. We have dinner ADRs for Chef Mickey...will we be able to have a cupcake or dessert with a candle brought to the table? Will servers sing to them? How do I arrange this?

Definately! All you need to do if it's just a cupcake then I would tell them when you ck in. If you want a cake then you need to call the resturant ahead of time . At least 2 weeks before.
Now you can celebrate there birthday but because it's not there actual b-day they won't get the Birthday gift that disney is offering this year (free day in the park )cause it actually has to be that day with proof.

Chef Mickey's is a great place to celebrate a birthday! :thumbsup2

Just a warning, though, about what responses you may get to your question.....read through this thread and you'll see what I mean:

Some people on these boards are pretty sensitive about celebrating birthdays on days that its not your actual birthday. So proceed with caution and get those broad shoulders on!!

Back to your birthday celebration question, though. When we were there on my son's birthday (January 11th), they brought him out a Mickey cupcake with a candle on it. No one sang "happy birthday", but over the sound system they announced that they had several people celebrating a birthday, had them stand up, and the characters all came around waving their napkins while the music played. It was very cute.

Cupcakes aren't guaranteed, so if you want to be sure there's a big cake for them, you can have one ordered ahead. Chef Mickey's has a big all-you-can-eat sundae bar and dessert selection, though, so your boys may not want to miss out on the dessert buffet for cake.

Have a great time!! :flower3:

We celebrating DS's first birthday there a few weeks after his actual birthday. They give you this cute laminated placemat with signatures from all of the characters and during one of their singing/dancing parts the server brought over a cupcake for him. I can't remember if there was a candle. Minnie was by our table when they brought the cupcake so she gave DS some extra attention right then which was fun.

A few years ago when we celebrated my Dad's birthday at Chef Mickey's we told our server and then he told Goofy to come over and bring him a cupcake.

As for celebrating their birthdays early who cares because the Cast Members don't and WDW realizes not everyone can be there on their actual birthday, plus when we celebrated my Dad's birthday there it was a few days before it actually happened since we were not going to be at WDW when it hapened.

Last year we gave DS the trip to WDW as his main b-day present (his b-day is shortly after Xmas), but we didn't go until Feb. We told the CM at Chef Mickey- and when I made the ADR- it was his birthday. He got a cute cupcake- for breakfast- and a picture and a placemat. I have no regrets doing it that way- to him, it was something special and it was for his birthday.

Now, he's a kid and knew it was a belated b-day gift. Would I just tell them it was b-day to get a free cupcake or something- NO...

I say tell them and let your kids enjoy it!
