I've read several post and WDW web site and get different answers to my question.So here is my questions in my own post.We will be going to WDW in November.Looking to buy Annual passes for my family with my daughter turning 10 in August.If I buy NOW will I be able to upgrade to an Adult ticket for NO charge even though the ticket will never be used until November.If I'm not going to save I could wait until the first of November to buy but if I can save a few dollars I will go ahead and buy now.Would love to hear you answers.Thanks

This is conjecture only on my part...but I thought it worked liked this:

If a child has an activated AP whe they turn 10, they are allowed to continue to use that pass unitl it expires. Since a "voucher", to me, is like a gift certificate, but is not activate, it would have to be upgraded for the difference when it is activated/redeemed for the actual pass. Otherwise, there would be nothing to stop someone from purchasing several vouchers when their child is 9, and keep using them for several years..if they bought 10 child vouchers, the "kid" could keep getting in at the child price until the age of 19.

As to what Disney will actually do, I don't know, but it just seems logical to me the way I stated it.

Disney only upgrades previously used child tickets to adult tickets for no charge. If you have a completely unused child ticket (including an AP voucher) then Disney policy is to charge you the price difference between the price paid for the child ticket and the current adult price of that ticket. Application of that policy is pretty uniform for the reasons Chuck mentioned although there are always one or two CMs who may do the exception.

Just confirming - you need to buy the ticket that matches the age of the person at the time of first use.
