I bought and used the ID on Me kits. The kids had no problem wearing them and I felt good knowing that my cell phone number was on them at all times. I think my DD (7) liked knowing she could find me if she needed to, my son (4) really didn't get it, but he wore it and didn't take it off, we also put it on his ankel.

You can check them out at idonme.com

Glad to see you liked these.
I started to buy some a while back but was afraid they were not good.
I will be sure to order mine soon
Thanks again!

We did the metal dog tag on his shoe lace. DS at 17mo would have freaked out if I tried to wrap something around his wrist or ankle. Get at the petstore at those machines that engrave while you wait. We had our name, 2 cell phones, and WLV (our home resort) engraved on it.

That's exactly what we did. . . got a spiderman tag at walmart and engraved our son's name, our names and our cellphone. He actually thought it looked cool--he's 8, but I felt more comfortable with some kind of ID for him.

We just returned from Disney, with 5 grandchildren in tow. My DD and DIL used sticky labels with info written on them, (pre-written at home) and stuck them to the back of each child's shirt. No picking it off that way. The labels were the office kind, and about 4 inches by 3 inches. They stuck well throughout the entire day, although the moms took an extra one each day in case the kids got wet, etc.

Worked like a charm and the price was very, very low.

I used the dog tags you can get engraved at the machines outside of Wal-Mart or many pet stores for our dd 18 months. We attached it to her shoe before we left home. I plan to do this again when we return in December.

another good idea is to bring some current pictures of your children. If God forbid, they were lost, you'd have pictures readily available to help find them.

My 2 yr old wears an id bracelet all the time (stainless, like a medical bracelet). If you have a digital camera, take a picture of your child each morning. You then have a very current photo and it shows what he/she is wearing that day!

We have used ID Inside Child Safety ID Wristbands. MY DDs love them and keep them on the whole time. The younger one called it her "Get Lost" bracelet. :D

I think it is important that families know all the different options they have to keep their child's safely on the child because what works for one child may or may not work for another child. So thanks for all the ideas. I have never seen the one that the OP posted. Thanks for sharing.

When we were there, I had to go to Lost and Found- which is at the kennel (TTC). They have a machine there that makes dog tags in Disney shapes. I thought they'd make a great ID tag for kids.

Here's another idea. You can buy beads with letters and numbers on them and make a necklace with the info you want. I guess this works best for girls though!

My daughters school actually made IDs this year along with their school pics and class pic- very nice to have!!

We took this a step further, every morning we took a pic of DS on the digital before we headed out to the parks. That way, not only did we have a current pic, we knew exactly what he was wearing. We would delete the previous days' pic the next morning.

if you have a digital camera take the kids photos each day so you have what they are wearing.
