How many activities do your children participate in on a weekly basis?

Mine is thankfully only in 1 this year, down from 3 last year.

my poll didn't work like I instructed. I had a 5th option for "4 or more" but it didn't make it into the final and now I can't seem to edit it. Is it possible to edit a poll????

My oldest is actually in 4 activities: Piano, Dance, Gymnastics, and Soccer
My youngest is in three: a general music group class, dance, and tumbling.

Part fun/part socialization. We homeschool.

If you include our Friday co-ops--then they do 5 and 4 activities respectively.

Just swimming and gymnastics. But still that is alot for us.Dinners are always rushed on those days not to mention homework.

My oldest dd (13) does IRish dance and viola, each 1x per week.
My next dd (8) does Irish Dance 1x/week and minimal participation in Brownies (just joined) every=other-week.
My ds (6) is currently in nothing...did Irish Dance last year but didn't really love it. He wants to golf and play tennis.
My youngest (4) does nothing. She wants to Irish Dance but can't until age 5 or 6 (depending on how ready she is at age 5).

Still in time out, huh? Is that a permanent new tag or temporary?

DD12 & DS8 only swim. Both are on year round swim teams. DD12 swims 5-6 days a week. DS8 swims 3-4 days a week.

My 3 older kids (dd's) are involved with martial arts and Girl Scouts.

This year my 15yo is joining a school club, 11yo will start field hockey, and 8yo is starting to cheer.

DS5 takes swim and Jujitsu lessons. In November, he'll also start taking drum lessons (once a week for 8 weeks). So, two activities right now and three soon.

I am not sure...although I have NOT been earning my way off the Naughty Mat, lol.

Well, not my child but me (I'm 16). I do piano (1/week), volleyball (varies), golf (varies), school literary magazine (1/week and occasional night time events to earn money but by the end of the year we are there almost every day), yearbook(1/week but similar year-end schedual as the lit magazine), school volenteer group(1/week and then the days of events), and school newspaper (varies). I clicked 3 because it was the closest. I'm pretty busy but I balance it all pretty well and my friends' parents and my mom drive us home for different groups/days so each parent isn't always running around everywhere.

OK I didnt take the poll because my daughter's option wasnt there. DD is in 4 activities

Spanish class
Dance class (includes ballet, tap, & jazz)
Religion Class
Girl Scouts

Two right now-Dance and soccer. We signed DD up for swimming also, but it was just too much. Soccer is over soon and then we will start swimming lessons again.

15yodd
Marching Band/Concert Band
Spanish Club

10yodd
Student Council
Girl Scouts
UIL Competition, which is a temporary scholastic competition. She is on a Writing Team. She won 1st place last year.

Even though the list is small the groups activities require alot of their time.

My kids vary according to the season. Tonight I voted "2" since they each have that many going on right now.

DS14: Year 'round karate and drums
Seasonal baseball and ski club

DD12: Year 'round karate
Seasonal soccer and ski club

We usually try to stick to 1 or 2 to a season. Both my daughters are in dancing. One daughter is also in soccer on Saturdays and one daughter is also in Brownies and she is also in Cheering 2 nights a week along with a game on Sunday, which will be ending in 2 weeks.

I prefer a 2 activity limit, I don't feel like running around all the time.

Right now she is in dance-2 classes, jazz and tap, but I count that as one activity as they are on the same day, one after the other.

She wants to join girl scouts(have to mail that in!) so that would be 2..and she does softball in the spring, so the spring would have 3, but that's okay.

Next year she starts cheering and that will be another thing in the fall.

My son doesn't do anything yet. He's signed up for T Ball in the spring.

Both of mine are in boys scouts which meets 1x per week. My oldest plays soccer - 2 practices & 1-2 games per week. He also just became a den chief which means he helps with a group of cub scouts - another night per week.
Both of them plan to join the ski club. The ski club's goal is to ski AT LEAST 1x per week - all resorts are about an hour away and parents have to provide the transportation.
Oh and they both attend Religious Ed one Sundays. One goes one way from 4-6 the other goes in the opposite direction from 6-7:30 on Sundays. Not conducive to Sunday dinner. Luckily the 4-6 class actaully ends a bit earlier and the hostess just sends the boys out front to play until their ride comes - they are 12 yr olds, so theoretically they have enough sense to stay out of the street.

my older dd is a junior in high school. right now she's a varsity cheerleader, and that pretty much eats up all her spare time. in the spring she'll do some volunteer work at the local elementary school.

younger dd is a freshman. she's on the dance team and gthe vocal jazz ensemble, and joined the Key Club and the Spanish club. I have no idea where she finds the time.

in previous years they both took dance classes, attended Hebrew school, took piano and participated in gymnastics. they are both very active girls, and I love it!
