I feel bad for your dd because that's the way I've felt every time I've flown. It's horrible. One time a FA gave me 2 cups with hot (steaming) wipes in them to hold against my ears. Something about suction is supposed to help the situation, though I didn't notice any difference. Maybe this would help your dd, though.
I am going to put a lot of hope into those Earplanes. Plus, maybe things have changed since the 10+ years I've flown, either with my ears or with the way they can pressurize the cabin.
I am amazed that people can fly w/o ear pain. I strive to be one of those people!
