Boy....I don't even have lists yet....

I did buy my boys Bengals Palmer jersies. And my DD a teapot set. But that is all for now.

I am behind!!!

And about the toothbrushes....my kids get them. They get socks. My DD LOVES to get socks and underwear!!! The older they get, it is harder to find affordable stocking stuffers.

Candy is fine. That is why we need the toothbrushes....

I am Christmas shopping tonight. Maybe I will get something accomplished. Wish me luck!!!!

NO kidding stocking stuffers for my DS10 has been horrible. So far all i have come up with is a few packs of football & baseball cards, a itunes card, and a mcdonalds & movie theater gift cards.
Any ideas..............

My kids get toothbrushes, underwear & socks every year in their stockings along with a few small toys & such. They usually get a bit of candy too.

To make ourselves evern more 'uncool', our kids get new PJs for Christmas morning as well.

AFA lists, they aren't getting everything they want, but they're getting a lot! Here goes:

DS9:

-Nintendo DS (He won it in a contest but doesn't know)
-case for Nintendo DS
-lots of books (We live near a Scholastic Warehouse outlet so I stock up twice a year)
-Fairly Oddparents Board Game

I know there's more but until I get up in the crawlspace & check out my 'stash' I won't be totally sure.

DD6:

-Grown-up art set with easel, paints & brushes as well as watercolor paper, brush cleaner & various other art stuff.
-Various 'girlie' stuff (play make-up, shower gel, etc.)
-lots of books
-Bratz portable CD player

I know there's a ton more I'm not mentioning. I usually get to the point that I start wrapping in 'lots' because there's so much!

Count me in as uncool, too. Our kids also get jammies every year -- it's one of 2 or 3 gifts from "us" they get to open on Christmas Eve (except last year when we went to Disney on Christmas morning I put their new jammies in their suitcases for the trip). Everything else is from Santa.

Anyone looking for stocking stuffers I was at McDonalds today and they had coupon flyer things - 10 coupons for a free ice cream, cookies, small french fry for $1 per sheet - I picked up a couple to put into the stockings. Coupons expire March 07

We also do pajamas. But they look forward to it because we let them open that gift up Christmas Eve. They call it their Christmas PJ's. They also get slippers with the PJ's.

My son is 10 also, almost 11 and he is getting difficult for stockings as well. We have the sports cards, candy, toothbrushes. This year he wants some sort of cologne....COLOGNE!!!! My baby is growing up.....They like the rubber bracelet type things. I found some in his NFL team - the Colts. He will probably get a new CD or 2 also. But that is all I can think about for now....

When i said gift i meant for the stocking.... i thought you guys would understand that.

I've just started! So far I've gotten DD, 7:
American Girl Nellie
8 AG outfits
AG Palomino
Palomino dress up set
AG Bubble Bath tub
AG trunk
AG Vanity
AG towel rack
Amazing Alyssen
Bratz Diamondz Dolls- two
Bratz remote car
Littlest Petshop Vet Center
6 new LPS animals
Littlest Pet Digital pet monkey
Barbie Diary Computer Game

I still have loads to get. I buy a lot and then put some away for her birthday which is Feb 5th. If I wait to shop after Christmas for that day there is usually nothing. This year we are taking her to NYC to the AG Place so that will be part of her gift too.

ATM Bank ($25)
Moon Sand (not purchased yet)

They also get money from my mom, about $25, a few small gifts from DMIL, about $25-$30 worth, a $20 gift exchange gift from DH's side of the family, and a $20-$25 gift from DBIL. For that stuff, they are asking for CDs and Bratz stuff. They really don't need anything at all, but it's fun to have a few things to open anyway. Poor DD9 will be getting mostly bras and undies for her b-day.

Um ... those are *stocking stuffers* and are not really "gifts". ;)

We've always put useful items in stockings, as well as some little luxuries and fun things. Nothing wrong with that. :teeth:

.

Please don't feel like you are depriving them. I don't know... when I have gone overboard for my (now) 3 year old, I have always felt kind of gross. Almost dirty that I am wasting all of that $$ and over indulging her with the wrong things. Kids toys are relatively inexpensive, so it's no huge deal for me to buy her 30 or so things. But I don't want to turn her into a big consumer who just wants more and more but can't seem to feel satisfied.

I've seen kids who have so much to open on christmas day it leaves them exhausted. They really would have been happier with 4-5 things they really wanted.

I guess I'm not totally sold on all of the consumerism I see around me.

OK now I don't feel so bad in giving my boys 5 DS games each! ;) I was writing out my list yesterday and I was wondering if I should hold back one or two for their birthdays or Easter. It doesn't seem like a lot (since those boxes are soooo small but I realize how much it really is when I took a look at my Disney Visa this month :rotfl: )

Will sharing your long story help me get the tubes free too?? LOL :smooth:

Get Target.com to send you 2 when you only ordered one and then talk to the most incompetent customer services agents EVER!

I shouldn't say it was free - I paid for it with frustration and aggrevation!

Oh, that is soooo true! Such tiny presents & so much money! :bitelip:
My kids get a boatload of presents at Christmas because we have a very small family & my kids do not get much from them as they aren't financially able. My girls are both December babies so they get 1 gift from family for Xmas & birthday which I think stinks! :rolleyes1

My kiddies get this lumpsum from Santa & that is it for the year. I do not buy any toys or items for them (yes clothes & shoes obviously! :lmao: ) throughout the year. Whatever they want they have to use their allowance. Even at Disney they use their allowance for treats at the world. Usually for their birthdays they ask to go somewhere rather than just a present. DS went to a Met game, DD -5 is going to the American Girl show & cafe for her birthday, DD-10 is going with me to see Mary Poppins..shhhh,she doesn't know yet! :Pinkbounc
