Okay so i'm over the whole buying the cute backpacks that break by the middle of the school year and then having to replace it. I'm trying to decide between a Jansport or my daughter saw a LL Bean backpack in a catalog somewhere and wants one of them. Does anybody have a discount code for LL Bean? Also she said they come with pencils with her name on them I don't see that on the website, and don't see anywhere to order them either. Now she wants pencils with her name on them, her name is Amaya it's kind of a uncommen name, does anyone know where I can order some from?

I got my daughter a Lands End backpack when she entered Kindergarten. She is still using it (she will be going into the fourth grade this year). And believe me, she is very rough on her school supplies (I've had to replace several notebooks).
I love the Lands End backpacks so much I got my son one for the upcoming school year (he will be entering Kindergarten)
As for the personalized pencils, I know you can order them from Oriental Trading

Ok llbean backpacks are worth their price. They last FOREVER. And if they don't they'll send you a new one!

I don't know about discounts going on now. Sorry can't help with that.

But on the pencils I do know Lillian vernon personalizes pencils and they are super cute colors! My daughter has an old fashioned name that I can't ever find spelled the old way that her's is. So I buy from Lillian Vernon for her "personalized" stuff

I was just looking at the LL Bean backpacks - I don't think they are very expensive at all, they last forever, and if you have a problem, they'll send you a new one. We've had great luck with them!

My kids always used (and still use, actually) LL Bean. I've never seen a discount on them, I guess because they don't have to do anything to get people to buy them. They're great.

I always got them a new one when they went to a new school, only because the ones they had when they were younger looked kinda juvenile, or because they needed a bigger one. But all of them are still perfectly good!

I got tired of replacing the cool backpacks in the middle the year with another one; so last year I got my daughter one from Lands End. It was a little more than what I usually spend but I knew it was gonna last where the others wouldn't. I got her initails put on it and got her a matching lunch bag. This year she wants a new one for the start of middle school but I politely told her "no" that I didn't spend all that money for her to use it for one year and throw it away.

This year our youngest is starting Pre-K and will be using her big sis's Gap backpack she used in Pre-K because it was small for her size back then. So I would look into Gap's backpacks as well, they hold up pretty good too.

Two of my kids have the LL Bean Jr backpacks. They used them for 2 years and they are like new. They are now going into 2nd grade and need bigger backpacks. I've convinced them that we'll start the year with their old ones, then either hit the Lands End sale or LL Bean store sales.

My other son got his LE backpack on sale last year and it's holding up great as well. Like their school shoes, I'd rather spend a little extra for quality.

We have an LL Bean store, my friend said she gets her kids on sale there. We also have an extensive Lands End store at our Sears, and I got my son's there on sale in late September last year.

Jansport but if you can wait it out a few more weeks you might find one on clearance. I bought ds's at sam's club many years ago for $13. It has been washed, dragged, overstuffed, stuff spilled on it and thrown around on the ground. Still going strong. It's a bit dingy, I could just wash it again but I haven't felt like it. He's in 5th grade and if I remember right he's had it since 1st but maybe it was 2nd?

I found one for my dd last year at target on clearance, it's the transport for jansport line. I paid $7.48. I'm praying to find one for my youngest this year! The target one carry the same warrenty as the other ones. Lifetime.

I've heard great things about ll bean and lands' end but I found jansports cheaper so that won out. They are the same or higher if you don't catch a sale.

I bought my DD the juinor one from LLBean last year and the zipper kept getting stuck in the fabric that covers it. I sent it back and got the junior one from Lands End and we love it. We also use it for travel and I like that it has the water bottle holders on the sides.

Thanks just ordered one from Landsend I liked it better the the LL Bean but also ordered two winter coats the 3 in 1 kind, so did really good got two winter coats for both of my daughters and a backpack for 100 and found a free shipping code if anyone wants it: cozy and pin is 2664

We ahve a Jansport one that DD got in 3rd grade. She is now in 6h grade and it has held up through LOTS of beating and lots of stuff in it.

I would recomend the LL bean for sure. They stand behind there product.

Thanks to the "BUDGET" board, DS is starting K w/ a Lands End backpack and lunchbag. The look really nice and he loves them! I had to put them away - he wanted to wear them all the time!

I know this may not be a huge help, but here is a Land's End free shipping code that ends today.

I have bought backpacks for my kids at Childrens's Place, they are great and durable. The price is only $15.50 and sometimes they have coupons so you can get them cheaper. My daughter has been using the same one since Kindergarten and she is now in 4th grade. My sons has made it through Prek and Kindergarten and two Disney Trips. DH carries our stuff in it. The backpacks are great and much cheaper than Lands End and Jansport.

If you can find an LL Bean outlet, you can get a really nice pack for cheap. My friend got her son an awesome backpack for $15 - it did have a monogram on it, but it was so hard to see it wasn't a problem. :)

I just bought DD a rolling backpack from Bean yesterday and, with a $10 off coupon, got it for $28 (originally $60). She's only 4, but we're going to use it for plane travel so it'll be perfect!
