Going w/DD4.5 & DD19mths...am thinking about having 4 yr old go to the activity center for a couple of hours one evening....she is very social & is use to a day care environment...would she enjoy it?

We are going for 8 days & I think she might enjoy interaction w/kids close to her age--like she's not going to do that in the parks, LOL!

Is it worth it or should we just plan to do some of the daily "freebies".?

Since we'll have the 19mth old, I'm thinking just a quick dinner or stroll would be nice IF the 4 yr old would be having fun...

Probably will do the pirate cruise next year....I think she's a little young for that & would like to save it for her 5 yr. old trip.

My DD enjoyed the crafts when she was 6. I have the pencil holder she made on my desk here at work. The boys liked the video games. We usually only do 2 or 3 park days for a one week visit so we make extensive use of relaxing stuff around the resort. I don't recall what type of evening programs they had there.

The staff are great. Call and see if they might have something that would be appropriate for her age at the times you were thinking of.

PS. One afternoon they had a little sign up saying that someone had cancelled their Illuminations cruise and they were looking for someone who wanted it.

Last time we were there - it was all afternoon activities. I don't think they are a free child care service meant to drop your kids off at. I think any evening activities include all members of the family (ie movies at the pool)

Last week one of the days they had a 4pm craft project for kids ,for $10.00 you could decorate a backpack and keep it sounded like fun but the family decided to do Welcome Home Wednesday instead.

That was the only day we checked it out.

Our dd and ds are older (10 and 12) but they really enjoyed the activities at the Hall. I don't think that it is meant to be like a daycare but the staff are great and if your dd is content to sit and do the crafts she would love it. Most activities go on during the afternooon but some start as late as 6:30. Usually took my dd about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. If there are a few kids their they get gabbing and could stay forever. We usually just hung out by the pool, which is right beside.
Activities included: designing keychains, backpacks, t-shirts, umbrellas, beach ball, memory book
They usually also run a party one afternoon and have craft nights as well.
Of course, there are the usual...ping pong, video games, movies

This was really the biggest draw for us last April . We lounged by the pool and our kids alternated between the pool and the Hall, then rented bikes, etc etc

Very relaxing....Even if yours are a little young yet, just wait, they grow up fast !!

The activities at the Community Hall are not meant to be babysitting, but are meant to be family activities (unless your kids are older). I think they would like to have the parents present with the 4 yr old kiddo. There is no kids' club at BW, so you would have to use the one over at BC instead. It runs about $8 an hour with maybe a three hour minimum.
