Children with disabilities at the water parks

My oldest daughter will be nearly 7 when we go to WDW in August, and my youngest nearly 2. Because of her various learning and physical difficulties, my oldest daughter would probably really enjoy the 'kiddie' areas of Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and find the other areas a bit intimidating.

Does anyone have experience of the water parks with a child with disabilities? Do you think that they will not let her use the area for small children because of her age?

The kiddie areas at the water parks are based on size. I think the upper limit is 48 inches.

Tikes Peak has a 4 feet maximum height
Some areas are open to all ages such as some slides but some areas as Figment said are height restricted. You should still go and have fun on the things you can do.

How tall is she? My oldest son is 8 and has Down syndrome and he is around 44 inches tall, so he won't be too tall for the kid's area. If she is 48 inches or more, I would just talk to a CM in the area and see if it is ok for her to play in that area.

I measured her the other day and she was exactly 48 inches and we have 5 months to go!

Experiences may have varied, but DSS(13) is very tall. At age 5 he was well over 48 inches and he happily played with my then 2 year old without problem. Also, on our trip last August my 2 youngest were 9 and 5. DD5 (about 44") was having fun playing in Tike's Peak. DS9 was kind enough to follow her around for a little while to help her get comfortable (while I rested my feet!) and there wasn't a problem. (He is about 54" tall.)

I also wanted to add that there is an area (ski patrol training camp?) that is designed for tweens. The pools are deeper so I had DD5 wear her life jacket, but it ended up being both kids favorite part of the park.
