DH and I have been to PI several times. I know much of PI is strictly for adults, but the street music and the Adventurer's Club might be fun for my DGDs (7+11), but just not sure if the the 7 year old is too young. Have you taken kids to PI? Would like to hear opinions. Our trip is coming up in November 3-8.

Amazingly, we had so much fun with our DD7 and DS15 at PI that we went back. There are plenty who will say it's not appropriate for kids, but our trick was to go early.

DD7 especially loved the Comedy Club, which is family friendly in the earlier sets. We went to one set, then went right back in for the next. She still talks about it.

The Adventurer's Club does a good job with the Junior Set in the early hours.

And my DD and DH had a magical dance together--in the Disco Hall I think (LOL); granted it was so early they were the only ones on the floor. It was a wonderful evening.

Please don't light the flames--PI should belong to adults after 9 pm. And ones younger than me after 11. But the early hours are family-friendly, and the adult partiers haven't even started to wind up.

I went in September last year. Very low crowds or else I wouldn't have done this. But my DS11, DD8 and nephew11 wanted to go see New Years Eve at PI. I took them while the rest of our families went to bed. We were there about 45 minutes until countdown and then we left. We had a great time danced in the street a little listened to the countdown and hopped on the bus back to our resort. Like I said...I would never do this during peak crowds....especially without another adult.

We took our kids this past July, mainly because I wanted to check out the new open gate policy. We got there a little after 8:00 and left right before 9:30. We saw plenty of kids there of all ages, some carriages and even 2 different woman walking around with baby bottles. We didnt go to any clubs so I cant comment on that, however what we experienced on the street at that time was fine for kids. Just music and dancing near the video screens, and a little later the band. Yes, people were drinking but kids see that at the pool, restaurants...everywhere. I will say it wasnt the highlight of the trip for my kids, but they were no worse off for having gone...and we treated them to icecream at Ghiradellis afterwards since we got our treats at PI. ;)

Take the kids early... great advice. Another good time is on Monday-Wednesday night. It was pretty empty on those days when we went in July/August time. We weren't thinking and made the mistake of taking my sister (14) and brother (16) on a weekend and PI was packed. This November, we'll take my sister and her friend (14) on a monday or tuesday night (not there for a wednesday night).

Have fun!!!

I definitely think that PI can be child friendly in the earlier hours. The Comedy Warehouse is fun for them and the Adventurerereerr's Club (how in the heck do you spell that?) would be a hoot too! There are all kinds of neat shops in PI that people might miss by not stopping in.

The "don'ts" seem obvious - don't take you kids to PI and then get drunk (I've seen it).

Thanks so much for all the advice. We arrive on Wed. a.m., so it might be a fun thing to do our first night.

Good advise on this thread. We take our kids often. When we do, we always go early, and we always try to catch the first show at the Comedy Warehouse. If it starts getting wild, we just leave. We've had some great times there.

If you want to make an evening of it go early and you can go to Rainforest Cafe, the PI, then Disney Quest. We have PAPs so DQ and PI are included.
